I just got 304 miles from my 1.2 from filled to the brim till the reserve came on.. that's what its always got as far as im aware! i do have a cold air feed and a cat back. Didn't think these would effect the fuel economy really??

Ohh, I guess you didn't buy the LHD accelerator pedal? Danggg that's annoying...

Jordan, which Ibiza do you have? Mk4/5? I'm getting really shoddy MPG recently, so bought a VAG fault code reader off the bay to check for any issues. Now I'm just even more tempted by an FR TDI!

Go for the TDi, even if its the 130 Sport. I've turned down the EGR valve on mine and I seen over 70mpg on my way to work this morning... Hope that will continue and wasn't a coincidence!

The 130 sport is the same price insurance as the FR.... I know which one I want! :D

I just know it'll be hard to find one in as good condition as mine... All the ones I've seen on ebay have been swirl-mark city and badly looked after..

What is the safe sort of mileage to look for...ie: when will things start to go wrong? I can't afford to constantly be replacing bits and pieces... I've heard the PD130 engine is pretty bullet proof though.

Will be on a budget of 6k. I reckon I could sell mine for £4.5k standard. I'd remove all my current mods and move them over.

£4.5k dream on. More like £3850 max. My formula sport would'nt shift for £4300 which is faster and better spec.

PD130 engine will last forever if its been looked after. Obviously low miles is good, but even at 62k (which mine is at just now) its hardly been ran in! Just make sure its been serviced regularly, on-time and that the timing belt + waterpump has been done at 60k or before.

Well, firstly I am in the South (generally higher car prices). Secondly all the similar Ibizas on Autotrader are about £5k however mine is immaculate and has only done 20k. I bought mine for £5650.

So if your 1.2 is worth more as you're down South, then the FR you're looking to buy will also be worth more - unless you go elsewhere to buy it. Diesels normally have a premium too as people normally buy them to try save on fuel, which works for some people but not others.

Cars in scotland are always more expensive than anywhere in england as we have fewer dealers and less cars to sell.

Think you are looking at £7k plus for a facelift fr with half decent mileage.

Just found a red FR TDI, 40k miles for 6.3k... Hmmm

However if I win the Euromillions tomorrow I'll have a brand new one

My dad's been trying to tempt me to get a Panda 100hp. Can buy an '08 reg one with 15k miles for £4.5k! 0-60 in about 9 seconds and insurance is less than my 1.2 beeza!

either the guy is desperate to get rid or it's in poor nick i say, book price is more than that i would imagine. They are nice in red however. Oh and i'd give the panda a miss, unless you want to pick up some grannies :p
