Yes I agree but part of the sales pitch is they are using 5xCAN-FD interface to make car diagnostics even more efficient and used the words you could see more control units. I am just trying to see if anybody else has used it and found more.

The only restrictions I've found with modules that use CAN-FD and DoiP protocol have been during flashing them. For general diagnostics, like what OBDELEVEN offers, I can't really see it being a huge game changer, unless they intend to expand their offerings to flashing modules

CAN-FD - Controller area network - FLEXIBLE DATA-RATE

DoiP - Diagnostics over Internet Protocol

Both are not required for code checking, live data, small adjustments etc

Well as I say its what they were advertising but they are also expanding there car supported range of motors so will have to wait and see if it makes any difference.

The main difference is that the Gen3 supposedly has the hardware for SFD 2 but the Gen 2 does not
