poor alex. its horrible to be lied to. and worse the frustration of being unable to get fairness.

its a shame we cant organise a meet to discuss the said dent. perhaps in the dealers reception?

That would be an illegal gathering with possibly a bit of trespass thrown in.. ;)

And the above comment is an example of why a thread ceases to be useful or helpful, and can then become a legal problem. Thank you for your input.

:hide: sorry trying to show support more than a serious suggestion:rolleyes:

didnt think id be taken seriously

I know it wasn't a serious suggestion, but i still have to deal with the people who think it is a serious suggestion, and is exactly the point myself and m0rk were trying to put across.

Is this enough proof?

I think everyone that has seen my car can vouch for how i look after it and also how it looked on Thursday night at the Herts meet and i polished it Friday morning before i left for SEAT and it was not there then

will im one of many who would be willing to state that the car was fine and dandy thurs night. (as i saw it at herts meet)

However, i do believe the dealer inquestion will put it right for you in the end.

Sounds like the people you have chatted to dont have the responsiblity to authorise a repair.

Speak to the manager when you can, be polite, explain that you understand accidents do happen but you would like it corrected.
Always be polite and give them opportunity to correct the error before making theats.

Its a well known fact that polite complainants get better response, particuarly if there is any doubt about blame.

Is it far from home? the personal touch it a visit rather than a call also helps.

Good luck.

also if something hit it like they tried saying there would be a nice mark on it not a perfectly polished dent!

At the end of the , all Alex wants is for her car to be how it was before them monkeys took it in the garage. Yep, some of the suggestions are just banter, not threats, and yes we also understand the point that the the admin are trying to put across, but, if you look further through the "dealership your say" there are many other posts slating, naming and shaming other dealers, but we dont see any posts from yourselves stating what you have stated in this thread in them.
Maybe it could be an idea to put a sticky on the area maybe? or add it into the rules about posting in "dealers, your say" area. Just a thought.

i aggree ive seen far worse threads than this, alex has in no way slated them and neither have any other members, they are moaning about the situation not the company i belive. thats just my thoughts

Basically we'll just remove the section completely then if folks can't use it constructively, either that or we will of been closed down, one or the other.

Or we moderate this section completely like the for sale section, so we'll decide what gets published and when, we'd rather not have to, but frankly were fed up of receiving legal threats, because of what someone published in here.

I wouldn't of thought a sticky was neccersary, it is in the rules anyway about constructive critisism, just seems some folks dont actually know what this means.

It isnt just about this thread, its about all that fall into this description, all i need do is stick a link to this thread in all those other threads, but because this thread is specifically about a problem with Alex's car, its obviously getting the viewers.

AND TO MAKE IT CLEAR for the people who obviously havn't read the entire thread, but still feel they have to post an opinion!!

WE HAVE ALREADY SAID, that we feel totally for Alex and the situation she finds herself in, but it is a classic your word against theirs, and this is a very PUBLIC forum with a wide reach.

BUT WE ARE NOT SOLICTORS or CITIZENS ADVICE, and we are most definately not a NATIONAL CAR MAGAZINE or the BBC's WATCHDOG, they tend to have big pots of money behind them, and they can take the legal threats with a pinch of salt.

SADLY we can not!!

Yep ok, point taken, i will nolonger post in this thread, i have voiced my opinion, and nolonger need to. Sorry for any inconveniance.

We hate having to overly moderate a forum, we all do, we do actually believe people are sensible enough to moderate themselves to a certain extent.

All me and m0rk have pointed out, is that people must be aware of the wider picture, and be sensible and take responsibility for their posts, its not a clear open shut case of fault, without conclusive proof its always going to be an accusation.

And making any form accusation in any form of media, opens a whole can of legal worms, where you need to prove without a doubt what your saying is the facts and nothing but the facts.

All we ask is people consider the results of their actions, and consider the wider picture.

I have to agree with Z-Boyd and M0rk on this.. ive stood the other side of the fence where they are and as a 'normal user' you would NOT BELIEVE the shite that they would have to wade thru' on occasions.....its not all rosy on that side... i know theres bad dealers out there .. ive had a run in in the past with one of them, yet STILL went and bought another new car off them!...but the Moderation thing is there to ensure that my evil twins, Chaos and Mayhem dont get away with murder;).....

it's not that the dealers in question are 'bad' just mis-informed.

especially when we outrank them on google with a complaining thread...........

I really didnt mean for this to happen, i thought what i was saying was constructive critisism and i never meant it to be taken any different, i really do get on well with these guys but i know the truth and that is what upsets me SO much

i think as a previous post said try talking to the principle or somone who can authorise repair.

im no expert but hopfully it wont cost much to put right.

just in case.. ask around for a good panel beater, if your anythiing like me youll not enjoy your car again until its looking dent free. if dealer wont help after a few attemps then personally id just get it done and not use the garage again.

ive had issues and wound myself up till im perminantly seething... lifes too short ...
