ello peeps

as the title says really i might not be around these parts for a while, some may say that it a good thing lol:D . but due to unforseen issues after totaling my FR TDi i canney afford another beeza. only getting £3000 from insurers after the finance is paid off so for the CUPRA TDi i was gonna get i would need at least another £7500. Add that to the cost of getting insurence after writing the ol FR off then it all adds up when you have lost your job:cry: .
so instead im going for and oldy but a classic a HONDA PRELUDE 2.2 VTEC, i'll be able to afford the car and a few neat toys for it with my payout. i know they are over ten years old but at least they are reliable and do sound awsome:D

i'll still be postiing i'd expect but not so frequently and thanks to everyone who has helped me out in the past with my sometimes repetative questions  but this truely is a great site the MODS are firm but fair, and peeps generally know what ther talking about which is a rare occourance on most forums:lol:
oh well that it, the emotional fairwell over:lol:  :bleh:

Pfft why does that mean you'll be around less - a good few active members no longer drive Seats :) On a plus note, lovely choice of car - you can pick them up for pennies these days and they're lovely to drive. Do you want the bad news about the fuel consumption now or later? hehehe

Yep agrea with the above, sad as it may seem. Preludes are not bad, but steer clear of the 4 wheel steer ones. Personally 3k for me would be going on either a 206 GTi or a ford Puma 1.7. In fact the later would be the best overall for cheap running and great handling, and there not too slow either, probbaly the same as the ibiza was.

206 gti.......think we have all had a french car, i myself have had a few (sucker for punishment.) and recommend not a French car and ford.

Well a friend has just sold his 2001 ford at the weekend because it needed alot of welding and thats after he had filled around the petrol cap.

for 2k you cant get a mint 200sx with about 60,000 miles on the clock:funk:

Sorry to hear you won't be getting the Cupra mate, but the H badge is a good one to go for - there is/was a tidy repaired (ex-written off) mk3 Cupra R on Autotrader for £4500 - the photos don't show much (looks tidy) but alot of people (perhaps rightly so) are put off by these.

Remember to post pics of whatever you do buy!! :)

Soz to hear that Davels (<- got the right person now), life goes on...

Anyway, you can have alot of fuin with the 'older' classics, especially the Hondas. Easier to tinker around with.

My previous car was a Renault 5 GT Turbo (you could buy one of those for £"2K) ;) ... owned it for 3 years, not one problem (HAS to be maintained propery, being Turbocharged etc)...

Mine could keep up with the Cupra's, quite heavily modified, but the modding options were endless... Was running a Hybrid Turbocharger ;)
Original Pocket Rocket.

Anyways, all the best with your Prelude. ;)

Who will be the Daddy when your gone:confused:

Good luck with the Honda and don't stop posting just because you don't have a Bezza anymore.

I'm sure theres loads of information that you will be able help people out with.

Ps Whats happened to the trashed car?

thats a rough deal DAVELS !

saw your thread with the photo's :-o after the deer motif

very lucky to get out of that back window!

wrote my car off at xmas (pre-beezer) and the insurance did nothing but :censored: me off !!! [:@]

was thinking of getting a prelude a while ago, very good performance figures, but isn't the 2.2 vtec a group 15 / 16 insurance?
what sort of quotes you getting on that?

Goodbye.

Good choice with the Honda.
I had a 1.6 VTI CRX with the targa roof and then had a 1.6 Civic Jordan.
Great cars.
Never go wrong.
If you are going for the 2.2 with the 4 wheel steer make sure the rear steering rack is okay.
Do you not fancy a Civic 1.6 VTI or a CRX?
You can pick them up cheap and there's a lot you can do with them.
Here's apic of my CRX and Jordan.

aaww you guys  lol. you know what i havn't got a clue where the old motor went i couln't get any info out of the insurence company :censored:. but the prelude i'm looking at is ins group 17 beleive it or not and i managed to get a quote for £700 3rd party F&T car only cost £2500 so not worth paying £1700 fully comp. the 2.2 vtec uk spec runs about 180 bhp but being older and most cars loosing 1bhp a year it'll probably be running around 165+ as a minimum but with some tinkering ;) it's easy to get that figure back up. plus the fance LCD dash i likey :D

its been great having you here davels dont stop posting tho matey!
remember if you ever want to buy anything for any car i have it swing me a p.m  :p !

the rear steer on the honda is an exspensive fix if it goes wrong!!!!!

if i had £2500 to spend it would be on this
