Peeps...

We have an Ibiza Mk3 Cupra mapped.....and the missus job has changed and i want to stay with an Ibiza.....

Looking at money we can get a nice diesel 03/04 plate TDI sport......for similiar money we can sell the mk3 for.....(maybe have to add some to it)

What are the differences with the TDI sport? are they all 130bhp? or some 100bhp? any facelifts? any add ons or extras you could order?

did look at the TDI cupra but its great deal more expensive although there is a cheapish one on autotrader at the moment...

Any help greatly apprecaited!

thanks

Rich

Most tdi sport's are 130bhp - it has a six speed box (only 130 will)

Its a great car, very nice engine, pulls like a tank as standard, I have an 03 tdi sport and love it! :)

Make sure its got FSH, tyres are good, if not it most likely needs tracking.
Cheap on insurance, group 7!

Any other questions just ask! :D

cupra's are rare just keep an eye open on autotrader and wait for a good deal i think the cupra is a defo better option soz ad it has bigger brakes bigger bumpers better interior can be mapped to 170-180bhp only down side is insurance is higher :)

seat ibizas on a whole are rare really, not the most common of the superminis in the VAG line up. There are a fair few sports out there, plenty of bargains pop up on ebay too and pistonheads. Trouble is all of a sudden dealers and trade have realised what they are so prices have firmed up on the TDi 130 beezas, 7k would bag a good early 30k's sport, there have even been some FR's going privately for that. For a cupra tdi you will need 8500 onwards really, again they move quick if they are below £10k so makesure you sort the mk3 out first then are prepared to search for the right mk4 tdi

Cupra's will map even higher than that, some have been mapped to 200bhp, and over 300lbs ft! :D

Look out for front tyres worn bady on inside edges, knocking from anti rollbars, paint marks and chips easily so give body a good going over, faded front calipers on cupra's, knackered rear wiper motors, and make sure you give the car some abuse and make sure the clutch isnt slipping and the flywheel is ok too, duff ones vibrate like mad, v.common fault on the tdi's and arent cheap to replace!

that sounds good, looks like i wouldn't be able to afford the cupra tdi i think it will have to be a 130 sport....

will keep an eye out...

looking for 30k miles or sub and as new as possible.....for about £6-7k

Shud get a nice sport or FR for that sort of dosh mate! Let us know how you get on with your search! :)

There was an 04 Ibiza Sport TDI on Motorpoint earlier today for £6995 with under 20k miles. Didn't say whether it was 100 or 130bhp though......

We had a 130 sport, with a dragon chip (which I still have) it kept up with my stage 1 mapped, CAI, and cat back Mk3 Cupra!!

Easily 180bhp with ALOT of torque.
