Thought I'd add to this thread, as I have now owned this Toledo for some time.
I took over ownership of this Toledo back in January 2010 and have made several changes since owning!
Firstly it ran pretty bad when I first got it, to sort this I had to ditch the 'drilled' airbox which was actually an airbox with the bottom cut off and a standard filter!! Once the car got hot it hunted like buggery, it also benefited from a new MAF and I installed a carbon enclosed induction kit in place of the dodgy airbox.
I also changed the throttle body for a decent used one which was fully cleaned before fitting to fix the cold start issue, (you had to give it gas to start from cold, a common V5
problem). After a re-align on Vag Com she was now running perfectly and using less petrol.
Unfortunately I had to live with these badly painted alloys for a little while -
BUT then I got an ebay bargain! A set of 17" TT Ronals for 85quid on good old eBay.
The next step was to get the suspension sorted.
Again I turned to ebay, got myself a set of SPAX lowering springs and low mileage standard front shockers, along with new ball joints and lower arms.
This got it to this stance:
Handling much improved!
Next came another eBay bargain, leon Cupra R pedal covers and genuine seat Toledo floor mats:
The car stayed like this for quite a while until recently I decided the wheels really needed the paint sorting and I just HAD to get rid of the Audi badges!!
So decided on Black and fitted some self adhesive Seat badges to the wheel centres along with 5mm wheel spacers all round to improve stance:
Also had to re-new my lower arms again!! A word of advice don't bother buying cheap lower arms off ebay they are a LOAD OF RUBBISH!
And that is pretty much it, much happier with the looks now the wheels are black.
