Not updated this in a while.

Had a few problems last week.

First issue was wishbone bushes finally giving up the ghost.

Replaced these with cupra bushes.

Secondly managed to shear the bolt holding the top engine mount, which led to the engine becoming erm.... un-mounted. Fell forward off the mount by about an inch. Luckily no damage.

On the mods side of things, its steady at the moment.

Mounted my methanol tank last week with the help of Adam Kelly. Cheers Ad

Also just treated myself/my car to a few new toys.

Vibratechnics dogbone mount. Should hopefully help with stopping engine movement, which as above, has proven to be a problem for me.

Secondly, bought a VI Monitor.

It's a bit like a Liquid Gauge, but a lot more fancy, with more options. Can log boost and stuff, read fault codes/clear them, can set shift lights, speed warnings, allsorts of stuff. Can also use it to time 0-60, 0-60-0, 1/4 mile and so on. Really looking forward to having a play with this.

Hoping these are going to turn up sometime next week.

Haha bad times mate. Nah I've been taking it a bit easier than before over last few weeks. Was beggining to take it toll on me.

Hoping to finally get my backside in gear and get the pump and stuff in before end of the month.

It's used. Not a car that only does 30 miles a week and gets washed several times throughout the week. More like couple of hundred miles a week and gets washed when i can be arsed.

Hows the car running with hybrid then? I've just got fmic sorted out after having boost leak, the forge pipe kit for seat sport intercooler isn't great but with a bit of cutting and extra jubilee clips is alright now, it feels like ive lost abit of low down torque, but it revs faster and at higher speed is more responsive, so i'd imagine slightly more bhp. Now saving for clutch, what clutch have you got?

Cars running great thanks mate. Done about 15k since having the hybrid fitted, and no major issues. Had an engine mount go, but thats about it.

As for clutch, I've got a Helix clutch and single mass flywheel. No issues with that yet either and it's taken some stick too (full bore 2nd gear launches).

Thats good to hear, because thats the only thing i'm slightly worried about by going hybrid, the reliability of the car may be comprimised, Thats the clutch i'll be going for too, It's about £849 inc vat so will be saving for a bit, also insurance is due in may so I've alos gotta keep that in mind, What turbo have you got? After hearing a few peoples problems with various other companys I think i'm just going to bite the bullet and get a TD stage 2, its £1095 +vat Hoping will be done by the end of this year, It's expensive but if it doesn't go wrong thats money well spent. I'll bet your tyres dont last long? I eat toyo's t1r's in less than 10,000 miles with standard 130bhp

I went for a brand new TD2 as opposed to a re-con unit. Like i say, no issues so far, touch wood.

Had the car mapped by RS Tuning in Leeds. Again, cant speak anything other than good of them. Paul's done a cracking job of the mapping. Minimal smoke and plenty of poke.

During the summer, tyres seem to be every 5-6k, but it does get used properly. Im not just a quick in a straight line sort of person.

I'm copying you abit really, i will be using rs tuning to map mine, he seems to get the best reviews and has plenty of experence with these hybrids, and also is very reasonable price wise. How many miles has your car done? mines on 97000 miles now, and will be on over 100,000 miles when hybrid, When I fit new clutch will put new engine and transmission mounts as they're abit tired now, and with hybrid I'm sure they'll be fooked! Do you know of any uprated ones?

Mines currently on around 75k miles. Shouldnt see a problem with your being at 100k. Just make sure you do the oil regularly.

Only uprated engine mount available for our chassis, is the dog bone mount. Vibratechnics do one, which I have on my car. Sends a fair bit of vibration through the car though, so if your wanting all out comfort, I wouldnt advise it. As for transmission oil, i put in what was reccomended by VW. Cant remember what it was I used, but could find out pretty easily.
