It's a universal intercooler.

Used to run a SEAT Sport one, but blew the core. This intercooler is part of an ongoing project though. All should be revealed in the next month or two.

Dont get me wrong dude, I liked the sleeper look, but now she's starting to look more of the beast she actually is! :D

Loving the ride height now!!! Really suits the car, I always thought mine was pretty much spot on, but I think if I still had mine now, I'd be winding it down a bit!

Loving the engine bay pic too, I really want to learn how to do pics like that! :)

Cheers Ash! The intercooler is going black when I can be bothered, as I want it to be subtle still. Hopefully have some more major mods coming very soon.

The engine bay pic, basically set up your tripod, one pic with the bonnet open, shut it then without moving the camera, take another pic. Once you've done that, its a case of editing them together in photoshop.

Noooooooooooo dont do that! If you've got it, flaunt it. IMO that's like a women being blessed and then having them reduced! Keep it on show :D And surely, painting it black will draw heat towards it? I was always taught black absorbs heat, so not only will all the stone chips show when the paint starts to flake, but surely it'll have to work harder to get temps down??? Or just me being blonde?

The only probs is, I dont have photoshop :( I really need a decent editing programme!

Ever since I blew the core on my old SEAT Sport cooler, I've been running a temperary setup, which had very long, laggy pipe work.

IMG_0224.jpg

The intention from the start was to make a decent single pass setup, with a nice shot pipe run.

First step was to find an inlet manifold that would allow for this. Easiest option was to find one from a passat PD130. Due to there longitudinal engine layout, the inlet faces the opposite way.

I took the car to Top Gear Performance in Doncaster for the pipework making up, as it was going to be a nightmare using universal bends.

Anyway, here are the pictures of the new setup.

Need to tidy up the wiring and stuff, and got a couple more unique plans which should make it look real cool under there. Keep an eye on it!

Looks awesome. Does all the action take place on the back of the block on the PD lump then? Messy and tight I expect...

Is that size of cooler big enough for your needs?

The turbo is situated at back of the engine on the PD engine. Imagine the most awkward place to get to....it's there! It's sort of half way down the back of the engine, half way down the back of the bulkhead. It's not overly tight, just awkward to get to! Definitely need a ramp to do anything.

I also wondered about the size of the cooler. I'd want something much much bigger. Maybe like the Allards coolers?

Dont i know how awkward the position of the turbo is on a PD130 engine lol, i spent 4 hours laying over the engine and under strugers1 car when removing his old hybrid and fitting a new one lol. Its not too bad once the TIP and egr manifold come off tho
