I've got a cable tie on the top for the exact reason Ronin has mentioned.

Been like it for a year and been fine :)

Lol, yes I did sorry mate. Edited now :)

On another note it's not until you see a more oem bay with the standard TIP fitted to realize how big the 3" one really is.

Don't worry mate, my bay is a bit grubby at the mo too, just waiting for the right weather to spend a whole day dedicated to the bay itself.

Yeah yeah, stop showing off. One day my time will come  Drive didn't feel or sound any different with the new DV but oh well, it had to be done.

Hint - I just found an easy way to edit your thread titles. On the readers ride overview page double click on your thread next to the link, it will turn into an edit box :) If you all knew that then I'll get my coat!

You'll feel a 3" TIP on there alright but at least you are going straight to one :)

I can far from show off, my car is far far from being done. The longer it goes on the more I look towards other cars and think of change... But then think I can't leave it unfinished. Cars hey...

On the edit box, yes I think alot of us do know lol ;)

All the guides I read said you had to press edit twice, so it was new for me ;) If I ever get to stage 2 pushing 300 horses I'd be showing off mate. Not long now till I can start planning the map, thank goodness.

Haha, I'm no show off luckily :p I like taking pics of my car when it's clean and love how it's gone but when I sit and look at what's to do still it makes me  thinking of the money!

You will not believe the difference a remap will make when you give it some. Trust me it is amazing the 1st time you drive it post mapping session!!

The money you've spent/have yet to spend or both?

I'm quietly excited, I don't want to expect too much but certainly want a bit more power out of it. Not sure what to expect really to be honest but I'm sure it will all be good stuff. Tyres, plugs, oil, coilpacks and then get her mapped. FMIC and TIP can wait stuff it.

I would advise TIP before as this can be taken into account and i had my OE one fail after 16K and 2 years.
Daily limp mode is not fun and i have had mine nearly 4 years and some people who have been on here 4 months have done more
As the Guinness ad says 'Good things come to those who wait'

Probably a good idea ronin, want to go straight to a badger5 3" TIP rather than getting a forge in the middle. So stage 2 on OEM probably isn't good as you say.

i Would recommend just using a cable tie on the nipple on top
It will give adequate grip without being able to be pulled over the bead
If you do jubilee it be careful as this pipe wont have any ply reinforcement and overtightening will start to cut the pipe

Thats how mine is and it's been fine.

Car looks smart Tom and looks like its progressing well. Keep up the good work. Ps go for the Badger 5 TIP, I bought my forge one off of t0m not that long ago and i love it but helped Sam fit the badger 5 one on the weekend and i want one now lol. This car is such a money pit but i love it!

You can do that yes, altho if you have to remove it you'll need to cut the cable tie, which you'll obviously need to do very carefully or risk damaging the hose. Forge DVs need serviced every so often so it's actually a case of when you need to remove it, not if.

Due to the nipple being recessed into the cap even if you get a small jubilee (which i did previously) you clamp on the fatter part and not below
You buy cable ties at pennies so i view them like oil, a consumable, 2 or 3 cable ties over a year is nothing
The OE ear clips work on the same principle - clamp, cut off, replace

Thanks :) it's not going to be the fastest progressing readers ride for financial reasons but I'm hoping to get it stage 2'd by summer time :) Did you feel much difference with the forge tip? I'm going to go straight to the badger 5 tip I think, as I'm going straight to stage 2.

My readers ride is the same mate just waiting to get paid to buy some more goodies :).

Yeah I think Badger 5 would be the best for you if your going straight to stage 2.

I did notice a big difference with the forge tip feels like it pulls a bit harder, smoother through the rev range, and of course more DV noise so i do love it :). I got mine second hand off of t0m so couldnt complain with the price but if i was buying a brand new one it would of def been the Badger 5 tip.

I think I asked tom if it was still available but he had already sold it to you ;) Just checked your readers ride - where are you getting parts to do a forge fmic with custom piping for less than £300? I was looking at getting the toyo cooler with custom pipes but am I right in thinking forge ones are easier to fit?
