• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
Yeah i can run it without screws, or even off but that sort of thing really p!sses me off. I forgot to mention they also left the coolant sensor hanging half out so I had the 3 beeps and flashing red light too. Once I pushed it back in it was sorted.

For £200 I think I'm gonna have to do a full service, just for peace of mind more than anything. My mate's got an integra DC5 and swears that all cars like this need to be serviced properly so thats 2 people who have told me that.

My cupra mate's old man is a mechanic, so I can get some parts discounted which is cool as my rear discs need doing soon too. I'll get some coil packs from him and have them on hand as I've heard about them going on the way home from remaps

Do you know what you're doing 0-60 in after all the mods?

Yeah I'm not happy mine isn't sorted yet. I might get the Forge engine cover yet anyway lol... Coolant sensor is an easy fix so glad that's sorted. I uprated mine for the green one's you can buy off ebay. The old one's do fail alot.

Do the service mate defo. Get her running well and on decent fuel, avoid BP Ultimate, for high ron fuel use V-Power or Tesco 99. I use V-Power without fail as it's a minute up the road.. I have 2 loyalty V-Power cards now too lol

Good shout on the coilpacks, they do like to fail after a map!

My 0-60 won't be much better than the 6.5 they're quoted to do it in standard. Main reason is it's FWD and getting traction from 1st is never an easy task if your at santa pod etc and going for it. I love 2nd gear it feels like a rocket, and 3rd/4th coming off a slip road onto the motorway always fun... I am usually overtaking motorway traffic by halfway down the slip road!!

It feels license losing fast now, but I still want to chop it in eventually for something faster. Maybe just an E46 M3 CSL.

Yeh it's a nightmare trying to get that much power down a FWD. My old car was a rover 25 and I had to rag the sh!t out of that to get anything out of it, so the switch to this took a while to get used to, especially pulling away.

I'll get the air filter and dv done this month then service and remap done asap. One thing I hope a cc remap will sort is the drop in pull after 5.5k revs that I get at the moment. It pulls really well but that drops off quite soon. I heard revo remaps are a bit aggressive, but pt/amd and cc remaps are a smoother more progressive map.

Speaking of m3's I know a lad who has a schnitzer m3 and that thing is crazy, tops at 190 or something like that.

Yeah I recommend changing the dv to a Forge 007p mate. Sounds like your original diverter valve (if it's still running Bosch OEM) may have failed with the drop after 5.5k revs.. Although don't expect much more after 5.5k saying that..

You heard right, REVO are more aggressive maps than those 2 for sure. Mine has a bit of a kick to it though! It's a new AmD map on mine for the 1.8 T's which they've only recently developed..

REVO, AmD or CC though you will be impressed with the difference in the car! The difference in torque now is incredible for me. I gained nearly 100 lb/ft lol!

Main reason I decided on custom code is it's cheaper than revo and amd and the feedback on here was pretty good :D also the quoted torque figures are a bit more impressive IIRC.

Cheers for the info mate, gonna get this stuff ordered as soon as I can. Hopefully have some stuff to do on it this weekend as I'm itching to start working on it, but I doubt it  probably won't arrive in time.

Will you bother taking it all the way to custom map?

By the way I just checked the invoice receipt for the milltek, it was bought nov 2010 so pretty new still! The details are:-

Milltek for Leon Cupra R 225 Cat back non resonated with front silencer bypass pipe.

Same as yours Tom by the sounds...

Fair play matey, I wouldn't have been disappointed to get a CC either tbh. They do produce some great results :)

You never know, your orders might turn up before expected. I've had this in the past and love it!

Nice one! I knew it was a Milly AND the new LCR design...! All you need is the downpipe/sports cat to compliment it now for the full turbo back effect ;)

nice and also seems like a good exhaust on it so you have a great base to start with there.

Thanks mate :D

Certainly is a good cat-back he's got there ;)

You would say that ;) ;)

Maybe the exhaust will get louder in time as it's still pretty new. A sports cat/downpipe may also help with that too.

Guess I'm pretty lucky to get a new milltek system on there :)

Lol

Yeah mine has got louder since it went on, been for a couple of long-ish drives to help it soot up a bit. Giving it welly on the motorway did certainly help! Couldn't see the tailpipe after a recent blast down to Canterbury and back!! Hence the recent clean in my RRide..

You have done well with the Milltek. Just need the downpipe/sports cat to finish it off, then stage 2 it ;)

Oh and FMIC... Welcome to the moneypit lol!

I was looking at your RR earlier mate, awesome looking car so clean and you take a great pic that's for sure. I was envious of the detail and shine ;)

 Thanks for the kind words mate! Nice when the effort put in brings compliments :D

Check my link for that Autosmart 'Duet' manual wash product I use. The car comes up with a wet look shine and looks almost detailed from some angles!

I've not detailed it properly in the year I've owned it yet though. That's coming this spring/summer :funk:

You'll soon get yours on the progress road and looking mint I'm sure!

Cheers mate. Previous job was in 'car care' so it's a bad habit

Gotta stage 1 it first mate ;) It's got louder since I got it that's for sure, I noticed that this evening.

Wallet's feeling lighter just thinking about it :( fuel is bad enough these days haven't managed to get more than 250 out of a full tank of tesco momentum yet.

Time consuming but really worth it, it looks quality.

Your mpg will improve if it's run on decent fuel like you are and you get it serviced properly. But biggest gain is to check your tyre pressures every week! :)

Forget stage 1, get stage 2 mods then get the stage 2 map ;)

Really? Will I get as much out of a stage 2 map without getting the 1st stage? Might be a stupid question but hey. What's the least I'd need to do to stage 2 it?

Mate, stage 2 kicks stage one's behind ;)

I went straight to stage 2 map from standard map.. I just got all the stage 2 mods in place before hand!

FMIC helps for stage 2, but you can do it alone with the downpipe/sports cat(essential for stage 2) and a bigger induction system, like a Jetex open cone. FMIC is more for the summer months. In winter your SMIC's will do a decent enough job keeping temps down as it's cold anyway.

Uprating your TIP is a must though with the higher boost of stage 1/2.

I went from 211bhp a year ago, to being mapped and making 283bhp a few mins later! I'm hoping for more now though since then :)

Well I suppose it saves me spending £300 on a remap that's gonna get over written anyway, right? Maybe this is the route I should take...

Decent full service
Air filter with shield
Sports cat/downpipe
TIP
Stage 2
FMIC if cash allows it

Cheers again mate
