True fuel consumption for an FR TDi

i think i get true 45mpg, 450 miles to a 45 litre fillup and i rag the arse end off it, so thats actually quite good. id be lucky to get 300 miles to a 45l tank in my other cars i used to average about 250 - 280 in my VTEC civic

IMHO i dont give a **** about MPG, yes i know i can get 60 mpg if i want to, but where is the fun in that? i didnt spend 5k on my car to get 60 mpg and drive like a *****.

On a trip to the Top Gear studio last week, I managed 52 mpg and that was going at 80-90 for 200+ miles, and sitting in traffic for over an hour on the M25, so Im pleased with that. Normally I get 40-45 with normal driving, and I use all the engines capabilities!!!!

out of interest mattfab guessing you had tickets to top gear and wondering how u get em?

My GF's brother applied for them on the website ages ago. If u go on the topgear website and look on there, you get directed to something called theapplausestore.com or something like that, and you can apply on there. Someone told me theres a 2yr waiting list, and the next episode is the last in this series.
Anyway, I would highly recommend it, its sooooooo funny. The amount of things that they do and dont show on the tele is unbelievable.

Only thing is though, you have to have equal amounts of males to females when ya go, so u cant go with a group of lads.

I must be doing something wrong then. Mine shows about 40 - 45 at those sort of speeds.
