i agree with all the above apart from the intercooler bit, its a must i blow a turbo  becuase of this and it does add power and more low down shove imo.

are you serious? Your turbo went because your intercooler was insufficient?

overheated pal no damage to the propellers at all but the tubine on the exhaust side was loose and has play in it because it overheated presumably.

oh right, well thats imagining if it didnt come faulty from the factory in the first place and got worse over time. Can see that there are too many variables about to determine the exact cause.

What cooler where you running at the time?

Standard cooler and now running the s3 and will prob add to that the forge come summer time, will no more on exactly why it went when it gets fixed up.

haha im on the std one.

Surely if the temps started to get hot though the ecu should start pulling things back, and turbos can glow anyway, so surely a slightly undersized I.C shouldnt affect it I would have thought.

Keep us updated on the findings though mate ;)

yep will do, its worth noting that the turbo went on a cold engine in the morning and i wasnt ragging it either, i was giving it some the night before though .

surely though if it was your i/c the car would have other probs?
detonation , melted pistons , ect?

no, no other problems just the exhaust side turbine was loose and causing the loud whinning noise. if the turbo had fully blown then there would have been other probs but i stopped and got it towed to the dealer as it was obviouse there was something wrong with it.

what happened to the turbo ? has it gone for investigation? if it is found faulty you going to claim?

the turbo will be getting fixed by a turbo specialist but theres little piont in claiming as the remap, intake, exhaust, hpfp are clearly the cause for it going faulty unless it was flauded from the start then theres a chance of claiming i suppose.

thought you might have gone BT?

No too expensive as i hadnt exactly planned for it and to get huge power you also have to think about forged internals and different mapping and as it was already running like 350ish there isnt much more on standard internal to get maybe 400.

Also it would prob need a diff and other chassis tweaks to get the best out of it.

Did you ever get it priced up?

i was gonna by Hurdys gt2871r but it was like £1800 for the kit £1k fitting and Revo dont have a map for it so would have needed to change software and to get decent power over stage 2+ ko4 i would have needed to do the internals plus chassis mods and its starts getting rather steep. so just replaced the turbo and put the s3 cooler in all for £1800.

So guess the answer to your question is no not really give up after kit + fitting.
