Sorry mate but i seriously think saying exhausts and filters can give you x amount of power is totaly wrong. They infact do little if nothing to a bog standard N/A engine. Thats why people like rob and stu have to spend lots and lots of money to get the kind of power they have.

200hp is possible and done right would be fantastic in a 2L 16V ibiza, combine this with good brakes, suspension and a pukka gearbox (3.9FD and a quaife diff) you would have one hell of a motor that would be just as quick as a 230hp turbo and perhaps more fun to drive

Its likely I will sell my current race car at the end of this year and this type of project is maybe something I will do - still going to go racing but in (less modified than mine class) road modified that is currently dominated by pug 205's and I think a well done ibiza would be a match for them - have been looking for a white 16V for a while to form the basis but they are few and far between

at last! a mk2 tuning thread that makes sense.
wise words indeed everyone
trying not to take off topic, just one thing though Rob, is white really quicker:whistle: or just the 'proper' colour for a race car

If the N/A engine has a decent well engineered exhaust and/or air filter/Induction kit I still think it will make a difference.

If I was a millionaire I would buy a 16v and run it standard, then change the parts to get a figure from each modification.

Unfortunately I am not and don't even buy a lottery ticket so chances are somewhat slim :(
