I just spoke to someone that said tyres from the likes of C#mskill and other cheap internet companys buy the tyres from South Africa and are not UK designed. In other words they could have a softer or harder compound for hotter or colder countries. Does that make any sence ?. I just thought that if you bought lets say a Falken FK452 tyre that its the same where ever you live around the world or are they made differently to what country you come from

I'm not sure about Camskill, but when I've bought tyres from Black Circles or Tesco Tyres, I go to the tyre fitting place and they just pull the tyres out of their normal stock.

I'm not saying that it's impossible, but I can hardly see a tyre manufacturer developing/manufacturing two different, or what's to say three for four different, types of tyre under the same model number? It just wouldn't make sense.
However, a left hand drive Leon is still advertised as a Leon? So who knows! lmao
I'm still willing to bet that the tyres are the same no matter where you buy them as long as they're the same model number. Ring Camskills, I'd imagine someone there would know. If not, they shouldn't be working there.

tyres can be made by Goodyear etc for other markets that are a competely different compound or even dont meet EU safety standards
Im not saying this is always the case but iv known these tyres to be imported into the UK by large wholesalers.

Did you know you can ask any decent dealer to send the tyres back to manufacturer for examination if you arent happy with them?
Cant u tell if they are made to Uk spec by checking the little hall mark with the circle around the E..?

Yep the classic F1-GSD3.
The UK spec ones were made in either Germany or China, (got the "Made In" stamp on the sidewall) it was the ones made in Thailand that were the wrong compound.
IIRC the German facility has now closed down, best thing to do is check for the E marking on the sidewall.

it was around 12-18 months ago when the Goodyear lawyers sent the cease and dissist orders to all the brokers
a lot of tyre places dont like camskill...because quite frankly they don't like there prices. It's good for us but probably not so good for tyre places that are having there profits squeezed!
