Tyres - what do you run?

The Eagle's probably wear quickly because they're softer which ofers more grip.

Don't take my word for it, but I would deffo get Eagles/TR1's. They are a brilliant tyre and offer very good grip. Wont get much better than these tbh.

I've used loads of tyres over the years and found the T1R toyo to be a great tyre at a great price. It work very well in the wet and dry! My latest tyre is the vredistein sessanta and this has better wet grip than anything i know as i found on a wet trackday. It is also amazing on the road wet or dry. A step forward in tyre performance for me but they cost more than a T1R.

I have The Toyo PX4's. I find them to be a good overall tyre. I think they have similar grip to the toyo t1r's and tend to cost about the same. I believe the px4 is a all season tyre rather than just a summer tyre like the t1r. Have also found p zero's about as good, just with less wear. Whatever you do dont get dunlop sp sport cos they make loads of noise and not great grip. Same with the Hankook ventus that came on my car. Only good thing about the Hankook was they last forever. You can get px4's from blackcircles for around £70 per tyre on a 205/40/17.

Reading reviews.

GoodYear Eagle F1 "Asymmetric" - The seccessor to GS-D3 - are rated very highly by everyone.

If you were looking at the slightly older, but still very good Eagl1 F1, from waht I have read, I would deffo try these.

Search in Google. You'll see what I mean.

t1r's are great tyres :) im going to go with toyo px4's again tho, the tread looks stunning lol

hmm...just found a quote for the px4's in 215/45 17 and they're quite a bit cheaper than the T1R's...

if the tyres perform about the same i might just be tempted to go for the px4's :D

Looked at the F1 Asymetrics? They're costly though. If thats the reason, I'll shutup :)

What tyre is best for you depends on what type of driving you do. For me on our wet roads a good road tyre as mentioned in previous threads are ideal for all road situations. However if you do track days and numerous trips to the nurburgring a spare set of wheels is a good idea with trackday tyres such as the toyo r888. A good compromise is the toyo R1R which works well in the wet gives almost R888 dry grip.:)

i live in london so need good wet and dry performance along with good longevity and not too pricey...which kinda narrows down my choices to T1R's or px4's

the fact that i'm going up slightly in size may make them more effective

Well I'm getting a P-Zero Nero fitted tomorrow to one of my rears, as I'm putting my spare-spare on the other side and that already has a P-Zero fitted. Wouldn't normally go for P-Zeros but I'm not mixing brands. The wheel coming off is my original spare which is also P-Zero but has only had about 10 months use and loads of tread left.

Not heard of those specific tyres. I have heard of Goodrich though. However, that does not mean they are rubbish by any means. All that statement proves' is my lack of konwledge tbh.

I did look at some reviews though. From what I have read:
They wear exceptionally well.
There wet/dry grip is very good, keeps pace with the competition.
They can lean onto the sidewall under heavy cornering with very good handling cars.
Not very many people at all use these tyres from a review site which has plenty of reviews for all tyres.
I saw a price for 17"'s at $721 dollors. Isn't that a lot? Might just be the US pricing though. EDIT: Probably all four.
