So you have one but u don't know wot the colour of the needle is???? The centre i white, and i want the silver centre with the red needle the same as the petrol gauge, rev counter etc... Therefore spending £££ on a defi gauge is pointless. Thanks for your input tho!!!!!!

If you want to try - do it! Someone has to be the first to try things!

If it works everyone will probably copy you and if it doesn't they will say "Told you it wouldn't work!"

The decision is yours as they say!

One you need to get a fuel gauge needle, two it won't fit directly onto the Autometer due to the OE gauges using a larger pin and back lighting. Also note that your going to have to distort the alloy bezel, its not a case of pulling it apart you need to run round the bezel with the flat bladed screw driver / mini chisel to get the face glass to come out.

Re-sealing isnt a case of using sealant its a case of trying to get the metal you've just creased / stretched to re-fit, this is why Autometer fit a new bezel each time they open up a gauge as its extreamly hard to get the old one looking good.

Anything is possibly, which your at it you may aswell make a new face and numbers that back light like the Cupra as your already going through enough hastle opening up the gauges.

Other options would be some Stewart Warner gauges or Autogauge (they do one with black lit numbers, its a 7 colour gauge).

Thank you for answering my original question!!!! I appreciate that, so it won't be a case of taking the needle off and putting the new one on!!!!

I've seen the autogauge one in halfords for £17. I was told don't bother buying a gauge for less than £40.

I looked at the Autogauge ones before but decided the quality was a bit cheap, the only thing they had going for them was the looks. I'll take some pics of my Autometer gauges later.
