my pump was very clean for 38k I was surprised because the golf r pumps look really blocked on half that mileage maybe the cupra hasn't got the same problem as the s3 or golf r.

I know that's what I thought too when I seen it but I have had the car from 12k to 38k now and its the original pump.
Could it be that the R and S3 pumps are so clogged up because they're connected to the AWD system and not the front diff? Maybe that's causing more wear? Unless of course your pump is from an ST 4drive. In that case it's very strange the Cupra would be so much cleaner, but awesome for us Cupra peeps i suppose (provided they're all that clean that is).
no mate I got it done at a vag specialist my road is so uneven you would struggle to get the correct level of fluid in.
How much did you pay? Just so we know what a good rate is and what a bad rate is? I know @theoldboy got a great deal!

I paid £66 labour for engine oil change and filter plus haldex clean and new oil I provided the oil from vw .I nearly fell over when he gave me the invoice so I gave the guy that done it a £20 tip he also took pictures of the pump for me too and they gave me a courtesy car too for the day.
The GTI is FWD, yes, but (unlike the Cupra) the locking differential is not standard fitment; it is an option as part of the "Performance Pack". Most GTIs don't have this.

When I had mine in for it’s service and first MOT in March the main dealer I use charged £111 for doing the front diff oil. Didn’t think that was too bad for a main dealer.
You know I asked the main dealer how much it would be for the front diff when I took it in for service on Monday, originally they said £199 (a stock Seat charge that they apparently can't budge on) then when they gave me a sheet of other things they noticed that "needed" doing they quoted front diff oil at £90. So now I don't know what to believe.

just ask the garage how much for labour and oil. it should be 70 and 45 if oil is more expensive can you provide oil.
