i have 2014 seat leon fr and have managed to sort out video so it plays through the head unit using a red collar lead but it stops playing as soon as you put it in drive is there anyway this can be turned off , thanks

video in motion cannot be disabled using vcds. There is a similar product called vag can pro that allows software files to be written to the ecu which would disable it. I got a cable of eBay that plugs into the media port and provides rca input. I've got a dvd player currently connected through it and going to use it to drive rear screens as well. I know others have used the cable to connect TV tuners or media drives as well.

How about getting a beer-cooler installed in the glovebox so you can really enjoy yourself!

what are peoples problems here? there are perfectly legit reasons for wanting video playing on the head unit. i for one wouldn't mind it for the kids on a long journey, instead of installing those ugly and rather dated/expensive screens on the back of the headrests.

I can understand why you would want to enable it for kids, but if they are strapped in properly in the back they are not going to see a fat lot unless you put screens on the head rests.
The OP appears to want to watch videos himself as he/she drives along. Maybe 'safer driving' would be ideal. Or 'crash' . Either way, I'd like to see the conversation with plod/insurance company. "And why did you plough into kiddies/grannie/school crossing person?" "I was watching a film........." yup , that'll be a good excuse.
If you do get it working, post your reg up, that way , if me, my family or any other forum members get run into/over by you, we'll know why.

Ah but the kids in the back probably wouldn't be wearing their seatbelts so watching the screen may be feasible?
