My localised repair is this Thursday coming. I'll report back on the result!
Be surprised if they can match the colour mate. Apparently even if you get a new wheel the shade could be different. With the colour shade in the laquer even 1/2 coat heavier will change the colour finish.
They might look at it and just ask you to go and get it done professionally.
That

Sounds like great service from DWV.
It is good in the end but would have been better and less hassle should they have sent it for professional repair in the first place. The amount the fitter took off will make it more difficult for the wheel repair guy to match them all. And all the running around to get it sorted was at my expense

I accept that a repair won't be perfect, but I'm looking at the fact that any toning down of the scuff is better than nothing.

id have been happier if the colour matched somewhere near. Even the black wasn’t anywhere near haha.

I'm very happy to report that the wheel repair went exceedingly well and beyond my expectations.

I was expecting a 'toning down' of the scuff at best due to the seemingly legendary difficulty of matching the copper colour, but Ricky at RMO Alloys in Sutton, Surrey, did a superb job. You'd need to look quite hard to see that any repair has been done.

Find him on Facebook and Messenger at RMO Alloys. He operates within a 70 mile radius of Sutton, so quite a wide area.

Highly recommended to sort out our copper wheels!

As the owner of a VZ3 with these wheels it’s interesting to read the above.
As yet they remain undamaged,so obviously now I’m going to be extra careful…..but there are no guarantees !!
When I bought the car the dealership offered wheel insurance, which I took…interesting,I’ll read the terms and conditions.
I have always had in mind getting a set of winter wheels and tyres and I will definitely take this route now having read this thread.
I would like a set in bronze (car is black) but finding a set with design appeal to me, the correct offset and that clear the big front brakes and don’t cost a fortune…not easy.

As soon as I picked up my V3 I went straight to an alloygator fitting garage and got gators put on.... Looks ok too!

Thanks for the link - just tried it but it doesn't go anywhere!

I didn't realise that your wheel style was carried forward from the Mk4 on to the facelift 4.5 - I had assumed that the Hailstorm (on my VZ3) superseded it.
No worries, I've had to look into it and the decal came from Etsy..... Here we are https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/439...85642e7fbef6152ae5310db6af40847a00:4394146157 I love the wheels as they are I wish that my replacement Shadow edition came with the same wheels TBH
