Quick question, I need to run a wire down the dimmer switch but Ive looked at the guide by Pabs but its not clear what wire I need to connect it too, so the lights dim on the switch!
seen different answers all over the net!

I did write this in another thread on here a few weeks back, ill look on the pic in the guide and tell you from that, basically the wire in the pic crosses over so its very confusing from the pic

Ok when you have the plug out there are 2 similar colour wires (i think grey but then with different colour traces) at one end you will tell the right end because the other end has the brown earth as you can see in the pic. The wire you need is the 2nd one in, not the outer one.

Also when i did mine i didnt bother taking the fuse box out, i just pulled the plug through the light switch hole.

If your still struggling let me know.

I got the wires and connectors from VW, along with the light, cheaper than e-bay for the light! I made a adapter loom, found the part numbers some where on the net, can put the details up if needed as this way you dont neeed to chop the plug off the loom, only needed to question where to plug in.
Its all in and working now!
thanks for the answers and advice! My car is that bit cooler now!!!

Glad you got it sorted dude, bet you can't wait to check it out tonight. Is a smart touch to the interior and looks factory fit

oh just been out in the dark, and its nice....
Was a bit worried about the red lights, but they just give the right glow on the gear knob. Very nice mod!
