Past couple of weeks my windscreen washers have not been working, I just presumed they had frozen up but turns out its been a blown fuse all along

Seat kindly don't leave you any spare fuses

Bigger fuse fitted

the blown fuse is because you have tried using them whilst frozen. so its protecting the pump. if you fit a bigger fuse you will probably damage the pump instead or other damage to hoses at a guess

As above,Its a 7.5 amp fuse for a reason
Why dont you put a nail in it that,ll never blow !
alternativley you could add some screenwash to proctect the washers system fom freezing

This.

If you don't want a smoked pump motor when the weather goes cold I would but a 7.5 back in there. treat yourself to some screen wash that protects against freezing. Also keep your eye on the headlight washers, if there is 2 inches of snow and ice sat on top of them the fuse is going to blow because the pump motor isn't strong enough to lift that weight. Clean the snow/ice off before you drive the car...........................

BTW, the pump motor is about £65.

Yep, they've probably computer calculated the exact thickness of wire to cope with 7.499amps. Any more and the wiring melts.

It's all done to save weight and cut down costs.

You think I'm joking?
