PS I take it the 10mm bolts can be accessed with a spanner as I cannot find my socket set. :-(

Finally did mine at the weekend and it really isn't that hard, will look at the passenger side when I next get a chance even thou it's not leaking. Yet.

Had some rain last night and had perfectly dry door sills this morning.

UPDATE:

I done mine today!!

I found out the rear offside seals had been previously botched with silicone and I couldn't get one of the front passenger T20s out (that side is bone dry anyway but will drill it out next time car is on a ramp)

All in all pretty simple but I WOULD recommend a heat gun to help get rid of the rotten seals and I had IPA to clean the metal too.

Another thing I haven't seen mentioned is the circular rubber speaker boots that no matter what I couldn't get back on the Blaupunkts.

I only broke 2 door clips and everything seems to be snugly back in place and working.

PS I washed the car and ZERO water was getting in where it had been previously seen.

I'll just need to keep sooking the residue way with my George Wet Vac but it wasn't that wet inside anyway.

Has anyone completely removed a rear carrier plate?

The previous botched job has rendered my attempt useless and water is still getting in the back.

I'll do it again and clean all silicone which will be fun. :-(

Did you remove all the silicone before hand? Could try thinners, White spirit or turps.

I did mine today but also had to remove the previous owners botch.

I didn't fully remove botched silicone and that's why I asked if anyone had completely removed the plate.

I have a heat gun, IPA and PVC cleaner.

I have removed the door carrier in the past on a mk4 golf which is the same and to be honest its a pain.

I was able to remove all the silicone with white spirit and a cloth today without removing the carrier.

The other doors are dry so I know it's the silicone.

Pain in the hole but I will get it done.

Job done. Silicone a b****** to remove but got there in the end.

If anyone in the Glasgow area needs their seals done I'm getting to be a bit of an expert!!

I have yet another leak.
Pollen filter appears to be leaking, I'm not sure where fro. I though. I know it is seated correctly and I know the cover is also seated correctly but I'm still getting a drip in the passenger footwell.

Any ideas? Maybe remove the pollen filter housing and re-seal under there? Is that even possible?

You can replace the whole tray for the pollen filter.

I didn't use the pry tools and didn't break any clips either. Not sure how far Melksham is from you but if its close enough I will help if you drive over to me. I also have a whole roll of butyl

That'd be awesome if you could. It's not exactly local (100 miles) but I'd really appreciate the help lol it's just getting the dry weather to do it unless you have a garage etc lol
