Hi
My brother's car is a Leon 1.4 TSI and he wants to change his wheels..The wheels on his car are 16inches..He wants to put 18inches..He wants to buy 18 inch OZ Superturismo GT.And their weight are about 11 kg..And He doesn't know the weight of the orginal wheels on his car.And he wants something more lighter than the orginal ones..Do you know the weight of the orginal 16inch Leon wheels? Do you think that the 18inch OZ wheels are lighter than the orginal 16inch wheels? If you know the weight of the orginal wheels I will be too happy..Thanks for your attention..

I don't know the SEAT's 16" weight, but I'm sure that it's much less then 11kg. I'm afraid that even OZ Ultraleggera 18" (8+ kg) may bee heavier than typical 16".

Yes but is there much difference between the superturismos and the orginal ones?if 1 kg it is ok but if it is more than that there can be problem with the fuel consumption and the acceleration...

Why is the weight of the wheels so important?? For the sake of a few Kg's on a 1.4, you'll notice no difference!

dearly beloved 11 kg is OK for 18", SEAT Sport BBS 18" have similar weight. 8 kg OZ Ultraleggeras are one of the lightest 18" You can buy for reasonable money and cheep replicas 18" can weight 15 kg or even more. Another thing is that a small wheel will always be lighter then a big one (same type), check weight differences here:

It's unsprung weight, it affects ride and handling. And few kg per wheel can be even 30 kg per car.

Have a look at this link, it lists most VW wheels and their weights, I know its not Seat but it might give you an idea:

A lot of people don't realise how much unsprung weight can affect a car.

Assuming it's wheels look like this:

I'd compare it to a similar 7 spoke.

Looking at the Houston and Catalunya wheels I'd say it will weigh approx 21-22lbs (9.5 to 9.9kgs)

Then it's almost the same with the OZ superturismo gts..

I know my cupra wheels weight 11 kgs ( without tyre ). My 18" rs4 wheels weight 10 kgs. The 18" Oz Ultraleggera wheels weights around 8 kgs. A stock 16" wheels weights about UltraLeggera 18" weight. Oz superturismo 18" weights about 10-11kg.
