Played around with a fix for the leaky scuttle, i had the idea some time ago.

On a crude install, it worked quite well. More info soon.

Also dismantled my failed dectane DRLs to repair a snapped wire, had to go through the front and back of the unit. Connected all up to test and had a cracked LED making three others strobe due to my clumsiness. Now have the job to match and replace a single LED.

No fun at all
Still need my scuttle doing,I'll keep an eye out for your info

It was a horrible job as I did it with the inlet manifold still on. Modified spanner and all sorts. Then smacked finger with a hammer so hard it split open lol. Was trying to bend a spanner over a kerb and some how missed. Strange as I'm a carpenter and normally pretty good with a hammer.

great im looking forward to doing mine:blink:

Refitted my original mirror covers while I finish off spraying the black ones. Also bought 3 litre's of Millers gearbox oil from Opie oils for £35 delivered. Hopefully I'll be able to change it at the weekend.

Changed Oil + Filter, Fuel Filter ( was never replaced and car is 10 years old !!) , Air filter , new Spark plugs, Cleaned throttle body ( had 2 mm grease on back ). Car runs so much better.

Need Bank 1sensor 1 as it does not give me data on OBD ii so I guess it's gone and car runs rich on idle

End of the story is that I saved a lot of money as mechanic were puzzled.

Will order one soon.....

When you cleaned your throttle body what did you do? And did it throw up error codes before?

Well i removed the throttle body but did not disconnected the negative from the battery i cleaned it and put it back. No codes prior but car felt heavy though. I admit that barometric pressure code came up after but after i opened the oil cap while engine running the code disappeared. I drove 50 miles on motorway at 160 km per hour. All good

yes know the feeling . I thought I was going to struggle when during my first few lessons the Instructor told me I nearly took the side off a Renault Clio :D Although I wasn't grinning at the time ,then I got the side of the 7.5tonner caught on some rails near Margate and held all the traffic up ....happy days :)

This was all triggered because my current oil cap was missing a bit and I didn't like it!
