Thanks Josh, AK and Lee. Now you say badger5 I have read about them, if I go throw with it I'll be sure to use him as if you guys say his reputation is that good its good enough for me :)

About your wheels AK, they look smart, nicer than I imagined tbh, exactly the look I want and would look great on mine as its black. How much did it cost to get them done and where? No need for another pic as I always use mobile and can zoom

Gingerbreadman I take it you know Gloucester quite well as you live there? On Bristol road there is a place called ultimate valeting and they have given me a really good quote on full front end respray, wheel refurb a few touch ups and a full machine polish. I've used them before, and for what I was charged for 2x bumpers and a wing they did a really good job. I think the boss' name is Jamie. It's opposite the old Hempsted bridge if you pop down, they do literally everything body work wise too.

Thanks Josh I'll be sure to check them out. http://www.ultimatepaintandchiprepairs.co.uk these guys?

AK looks like you did a good job on yours, I know if in tried to do my own I guarantee I'd end up getting paint on the tyre lol I hope your Porsche ones come out looking sweet

Also I'm happy for you guys to call me Steve, my proper name. Gingerbread Man is my name over on XDA forums if any of you guys go on there, I couldn't think what else to choose when I registered here.

Yes Steve they came out really good! But because I want a really really high end finish on the blue one now I'm having them professionally sprayed in body colour although I may have a silver rim yet. Undecided!
Send your wheels to me! Il do em! Oh yea I'm kev if AK is no good! Lol

Secondary air pump being blowing on my 04 Cupra for ages.

I dont have ramps or anything to get enough access to remove it and drill out the old rivets and replace with nuts and bolts. So, I decided to use some good ol' JB Weld! (other epoxy derivative glues are available and will probably work just as well!).

Basically I test cold started my car and held the bottom of the air pump together by hand to test my proposed repair effectiveness. Worked a treat.

Along the accessible lower edge I smeared a small amount of jb weld, trying to work it into the gap and clamped it and smoothed over the excess. Although the gap is small the amount of force required to close it is minimal (easily done between finger and thumb).

Removed the clamp this morning (left myself a note on the drivers seat just in case i tried to drive off with it still in place) and started her up. Success! - no nasty derv-like noises! :) Hopefully it will hold long term. (if not nothing lost though really)

I understand on some VAG cars the pump is actually just a sealed unit so can't be retro fitted with nuts and bolts. In those cases this is very much worth a go as a cheap option.

Fitted new brembo brake pads to the front of my leon.
The pins on the o/s was very tight!!! Got there in the end!
How much are the pins, just out of intrest for the brembo calipers, from the stealers?

Completed a 1300 mile trip round the Scottish Highlands. Car was awesome, had great fun on some of the roads and it didn't put a foot wrong.
