what have you done to your car today ?

Well I only bought the car a week ago and have had to do so much to it so far.

Today replaced the air filter, flushed and replaced my power steering fluid, taped up a split brake servo vacuum hose, and finally changed the coolant temp sensor and outside air temp sensor.

Then I sat in and awaited delivery of a new exhaust system from carparts4less.

After this with the steering no longer felling like I'm turning a HGV (due to the power steering fluid level being below minimum) I proceeded to drive to the breakers and acquire a new brake vacuum hose, and then finally to eurocarparts for a pre cat lambda sensor and fuel and oil filter.

Let's just say my wallet is seriously hurting at the minute.
 
N249 Bypass (The easy way). Managed to find my leak while I was at it as well! :)

i replaced springs top mounts and went for bilstein b6 shockers also fitted whiteline rear arb the difference is unbelievable
 
Used some black cherry blossom wax to touch up the gearstick and steering wheel , worked a treat. Also fitted an armrest the other week.
 
Stage 1 remap on my 2004 150pd (yesterday).
And not had a chance to see how it goes now.
Traffic and speed cameras have put a stop to that.
Will report back.

wasn't quite today but yesterday I swapped my ECU, glove box lock, convenience unit, drivers door lock, clocks ( need to sort the mileage out on them ), bosch 550cc injectors and ignition barrel, I was going to do the fuel pump, airbag switch, rear boot lock and also try and find where the really annoying noise is coming from on the passenger side but its raining so will have to wait till tomorrow.

replaced the temp sender, so now my temp gauge works :)

It was a bit fiddly, and ending up dropping nearly 2 litres of coolant whilst changing it, but a trip to Halfords sorted that!
 
Had a leak from EGR /exhaust flange, removed EGR and found the gasket perished. Bought 2 gaskets + 1 o-ring form TPS (o-ring for intake flange/material gasket for flexible pipe to EGR/metal gasket for exhaust manifold) then cleaned out the EGR with scraper & brake cleaner - wasn't too bad but still took a while to get it nice and clean.
Reinstalled all back and no leak so far.
Also emptied my catch-can for the first time after a couple of months running, very little oil but was surprised by how much water :blink:
 
Changed the rear passenger door lock module, but when refitting the window into place I must have been a wee bit too heavy handed as I snapped the regulator lug :cry::cry::cry:
TPS wanted £140 for full regulator assembly but as I only needed the white regulator part, I got a repair kit from eBay at only £7.
Not a fun job but easy once done - each time I thought I had the wire cables wrapped in place, one would uncoil & loosen off :censored:
If anyone needs to do this, there are 2 small holes to insert a nail or small screwdriver to keep the cable springs tensioned, then it's a tight pull of the cable over one of the pulley wheels.
Tested before I reassembled door inner :D
Now have perfectly working rear doors with remote fob :D;)
 
Started to play around a bit with vcds, managed to change door locking patterns and horn beep with locking. Then changed it all back again after the novelty wore off. More successful with our altea that is more amenable to adaptation, I could get carried away with this!

Finally got the 17" on there. Refurbish in a few weeks but not sure to what colour.
And yes it started to rain half way through.
Also put the stock air box back on. Got tired of the noise

Kicked it. Dash cluster driving me insane draining the battery even more so when sat in it with no key in arrrg seat stealers want £485 to fix it
Cupra love eh!
 
Was yesterday but found my mysterious leak and sealed it, then got the now dry underlay and carpet back in along with all of the trim.

Oh, and finished the de wiper job by trimming the silicone sealant i used.
 
Not today but to log all the work of last summer:

Replaced Rear axle bushes - biggest pig job!
Replaced all suspension with Vogtland sports 35mm
Replaced both wishbones, drop links etc.
Removed sub-frame, cleaned rust patches and a coat of Hammerite.
Replaced all bushes.
In fact anything metal and exposed around there got the Hammerite treatment.
EGR removed
Front wheel bearings replaced.
Fitted new exhaust
Oven cleaner treatment to the turbo
Oil and Filter change
New Alternator
4 new tyres - Avon ZV7's so far been excellent.
Replaced both driveshafts with solid ones from a popular seller but found they gave a vibration at mid range speeds. Took them off, put the originals back on and used some of those stretch boots with a cone fitter. All seemed good until at MOT when he pointed out it needed nothing more than zip ties to hold the outer openings in place.
Hard-wired Front dash cam
Hard-wired Sat Nav
Fitted a dedicated USB twin outlet
Fitted new stereo


And on the other Leon

Changed Head Gasket - sounds easy when you just say it. In doing so found one of the valves had worn through so had to fit a new head.

Changed cam belts and tensioners.
