Going to take the bumper off tomorrow to do the spray but I'm pretty sure I'm going to snap some of the clips.

Does anyone know the part number for these or know a way of getting them out so they can be reused?

They can be reused but they’ll be very brittle and hard. I bought a load of new ones. I’ll dig out the place I got them from and let you know.

I use a forked trim tool to remove them, they're in 2 pieces so always lift the upper one first then the lower one will pop out easily.

I recommend replacing them. The new ones will be so easy to remove. You know you’ll be removing them at some time in the near future. ?

Not my from my Leon but decided to strip down some spare Recaro LCR seats...err I think the bolsters may have gone.

sod that 5" grinder with a mop pad also a drill with wire brush, high temp antirust spray paint will sort out old ones

Had the rear bumper repainted. Previous owner had a few bumps going by the issues discovered under the paint, but the guy I used did a cracking job.
Plus a new plate to finish it off.

Blacked out the Seat badges front, rear and steering wheel, and added red Seat side fender badges (Golf R style).

Thanks everyone for the heads up on the clips. They were pretty much all toast before I started taking them off, so there'll be an order going in after all the festivities.

Getting the bumper off is a pain - don't forget the fog lamps and the sensors embedded in the bumper if you ever do it yourself...

I put it on axle stands so all I had to do to undo the screws was turn the wheels. I'll leave it like that until I put the bumper back on. If I have time I'll finish the paint on the bonnet too but I'm in less of a hurry to do that at the moment.

Rain starts on Saturday, so fingers crossed I'll have all the paint done by the end of tomorrow. I can't see that being a problem though.

Something weird happened today...



I DID SOME WORK ON MY OWN CAR!!!!

Don't get too excited though as it wasn't much but it involved pulling out some bits from my personal stash that have been tucked away for at least 2 years I reckon.

First off was to fiddle with the mk3 Leon Cupra multifunction steering wheel, this came off a nice low mileage car so is in great condition and that's accompanied by a brand new airbag.

I recently had someone make the conversion loom for the CAN-BUS adapter module as you can see in the photos, I haven't wired this in yet though.

Slight hitch with the airbag install though...the flipping retaining springs are missing from the wheel so I need to poach them from somewhere so it clicks into place but on the whole very happy with the way it looks and feels.

Oh and whilst I was at it I swapped over the nearside front door card that had suddenly developed some saggy pants fabric and irritating the hell out of me.
