Happy days - MOT passed for another year. Some advisories to be addressed, but all stuff I want to get done anyway.
Blatantly drove past a speeding van on the M180 going at 85 on the speedo.
Have been on pins for the last 14 days but today was the last day the ticket could have come in the post.

It's removable - in fact if memory serves, I think you have to remove it to get the other bits of it off. It's only held down with double-sided tape, but you need to be careful as it's easy to damage the plastic ring around it, as well as the cap itself.

Been wrestling with my armrest today, as it's locked in the up position.
I never use it, so could have just left it as it was, but it bothers me, so I had to faff about with it.
Turns out on one side the button doesn't release the ratchet. I've tried dismantling it but there are too many hidden clips and more things are breaking.
Wish I could take it out entirely, but then there's the matter of the hole in the centre trim it would leave.
Thinking about getting a black tray or some sort of cover for the hole I could glue in place, but if anyone has any other (probably better) ideas, I'd love to hear them!

Very rarely, i generally leave them attached to the spoilers as they're so fragile and often break on removal.

Ye I’ve seen I’ve just repaired mine , all held in with two screws/studs the surrounding plastic fixing holes cracks I refit it after repairing that with a good double sided tape, think it’s vibration and age that breaks them and the water gets though cracks that kills the led, plastic weld is very good for fixing cracks.
Thought I’d ask as looking for them theirs none about, it’s only the vw mk5 version looks very similar though
TBH it's quicker and easier just to swap the spoiler over.
You'll struggle to find a removed used one that doesn't have damage.
Also I believe new replacement ones are silly money ...I'm sure I saw one close to £200!

Awesome - thank you. I've pretty much destroyed the armrest trying to get at the button, so it's going in the bin. No hurry though.
I know it's going to rain for the next few days but I hadn't cleaned my car since before I bought a replacement bonnet and door from Thai, and that was October last year.
Turns out there is actually some shiny paint under all that tree sap. Took a clay bar to get it out though. This was after a tiny corner of the roof...
The bumpers are crap but everything else seems sound, save a few scratches and dents. Nothing major. I didn't even wax it.

Yea the second hand ones I seen in sold/completed were damaged in the same place we’re fixings are, only new I seen not in stock were 70 quid but that might be old price,
The spoiler when I took it off the resin holding the fixing bolt had come away was a right mess too glue that back in, now I know what the rattle was shutting boot it was that, I should of just used expanding foam inside spoiler to hold it ?
Yesterday I pulled out of my sloped driveway and heard a sloshing sound. Grrrr - I've heard this before and last time my pollen filter was a soggy mess and the sloshing sound was water in the bottom of the blower assembly.
Today between showers I managed to get the wiper blades off and get the scuttle panel off and investigate. Yep, water-logged pollen filter again and water trapped by the recirc flap, and no doubt some had fallen further into the blower area.
I'd been meaning to re-seal the pollen filter housing with the butyl sealing strip as I've used on my door cards, so removed it and the old foam seal. That went smoothly and I managed to get the filter bone dry again before re-fitting. But my filter cover's rubber sides do seem quite distorted with a slight kink just in front of the kind of gutter runoff area.
I also discovered that the drivers side gutter had come adrift and the yellow foam above wiper mechanism (which I assume is for sound deadening) was hanging down and totally soaked - yuck.
Thankfully got it all back together before it started raining again!

My cover is kinked on front left side also I’ve always got to faff to get it to cover the filter and diverter thing you clip on pollen box
Your story reminds me why I haven’t changed my pollen filter in over a decade!!?
