Fabb'd some mdf rings and replaced standard speakers all round with two 6.5 subs in the back and two mid range at the front. Sealed them up good and applied lots of dynamat inside the doors. Now sounds far crisper and punchier.
Also did the leaky door fix following the forum guide. Didn't have the problem on all four doors but decided to do them all..preventative etc.
Today was nice and warm out so that butyl wanted to stick to anything!
Today me and a mate fitted an autogauge smoke face boost gauge Also changed the pollen filter while it was all apart. Pretty easy job and looks good fitted .
Ran and wired loom for s3 illuminating air vents. Full write up for oe looking loom and guide to fit will follow in my RR tonight. Need darkness now to properly test
Timing belt and waterpump, new thermostat, new auxiliary belt and pully and an oil & filter change...all to the tune of £666. Needs must. No more annoying rattle under load from aux belt and finally my temp goes to 90 and stays there . Also fitted pioneer Bluetooth stereo with built in handsfree, cds are so 1990's . Planned to clean it today but it rained. Next job is a brembo refurb!
Looked in vain for a LCR power steering rack! Mine dropped a seal on Thursday and is in need of replacement so, while it's being taken apart anyway I figure I might as well upgrade!
Now if anyone might happen to have one going spare...
I did the same last month. I bought a rack, hubs and lower arms from a mk1 TT, same setup as LCR. I managed to source the arms with the nubbin on so could keep my eibach arb! Night and day differences!
