what have you done to your car today ?

Theres a large roundabout near me that i always had to be carefull on with my old cupra diesel. Used to 4 wheel drift (not in a good way) if i hit it to fast. This car i have now sticks like its on rails. But always have in mind that if it lets go it'll be game over for the car so never push it too hard.
Always thinking that im driving a 3.5k car that owes me about 7 lol

I have some twisty tight roads near me, and when I upgraded to h an r front are I wss able to push harder into them without going crazy, and the when I slapped rear whitelines on it transformed the car, I haven't been there since fitting the alaph top strut bar but I imagine it will add to it, they do give you more confidence in these cars.

Yeah the money we put in them is mad, ive had a few cars and done subtle mods to them but the 2 cars that have emptied my pockets down to my socks are seats lol, I seem to love them even with the pain they cause lol. But at least we can say we own our cars and don't rent or lease them like alot do, now that's throwing cash down the toilet

Unfortunately I got an advisory for the front ARB in January and they've been discontinued. And if you upgrade the front you really need to add one to the rear.

So I'm having to save up for a new pair. £360 for H&R ones, which the garage recommended.

I'll be doing the front and rear shocks over the weekend, so if I'm still not getting the kind of handling I want, it'll have to be either ARB or something else, given I've changed all the bushes on the car these past six months.

My maf threw a signal high and signal low code, cleaned it and nothing happened so a new one is on the way!

Also noticed my turbo/induction noise when driving is very loud. Almost to the point of a hiss. Boost gauge seems to read normal so I don’t know if it’s normal or not

I havnt got a spare turbo you can have/buy and it seems that Haribo are out of the question at the moment anyway.

It’s always well received I don’t think it’s the turbo that seems to run fine. More likely a small leak. It just seems very loud like I’ve got a smaller darth Vader under the bonnet

Depends what handling you want. Adding the rear ARB will dial out a decent amount of understeer, makes the back end more likely to slide when changing direction at speed. If you really want to chuck it into corners then it's definitely the mod to do.

Also, as diesels have the 23mm front ARB it's not essential to change it

I have the BAF K-brace, it's barely visible in black up against the rear seats.

Do rear braces actually make a difference on these cars? Always looked at all the metalwork behind the rear seats n thought "Yup, that's enough bracing" so curious if there's a noticeable difference to handling

It’s getting too tempting. I can afford the rear ARB on its own and would love to take out some of the understeer - although it’s nowhere near as bad as my Ibiza was. Might have to tell my other half if I put one in though, in case it starts getting a little tail happy... It’s not like she hoons it, but let’s say there are too many lampposts and ditches around these parts.

Also noticed if I take the gear stick and push it left or right while in neutral it doesn’t return? Feels a bit sticky (not that kind of sticky) any ideas?

Id pop the cables off at the gearbox end try and figure out weather its gearbox linkage or cable setup.

Clean and re-lube all the shifter joints on top of the gearbox then do a shift cable reset.
All easy enough to do and can make a world of difference for zero outlay.
