PS4S is a very good tire, also in the wet. @ExiledWeegie Check the reviews from tyrereviews, they make great content with regards to tyres

just booked it in to get 4 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 XL AO tyres on Wednesday, Halfords doing a 20% off deal on them right now so the 4 of them supplied, fitted, balance for £390, cant argue with that tbh.
I had Kamakazi tyres when i first got the Fr and then mapped the car a year later, not a good idea in winter on a wet roundabout as it turned into Tokyo drift lol, replaced all tyres with eagle f1 asymmetric 2 and that transformed the car then later on asymmetric 6 and i didn't think i would see a difference but i did on ride and grip, same roundabout in winter,wet ect i can boot it and holds like the tyres have glue on them .. unless you got oil or black ice but it don't matter what tyre but better than Jihad tyres
got mine on a deal from national tyres its same company, put mine 36 psi all round now use to have them on 34 psi , 17" wheel though as your on 18s, a friends Suv per tyre cost 500 quid each lol i said your running out of kidneys to sell And you don't have 4
its the 17's im on and I usually use 35psi allround so not far off
I had the EXACT same thing happen the first day i bought the car! I was doing less than 10mph and the rears let go on a roundabout for no reason at all. I forget what brand the tyres were, but some budget chinese stuff.
I've had the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 6 on mine for the past year. Great tyres wet and dry, and good prices for a premium tyre too. Just about to order another set for mine. Blackcircles do them fitted for less than £100 each (225/40/18)
I had pilot sport 4's on prior to them. Still great tyres, but more expensive, and I actually preferred the Goodyear in the wet.
The pilot sports were quite skittish at high speed in the wet, hit some standing water at motorway speeds and they wanted to aquaplane, whereas the Goodyears seem to deal with standing water much better and just cut straight through. Same when temps were colder in the winter, Goodyears were fine whereas PS4's didn't like the cold

Yeah I've been looking into these with what nam wrote, seem a very good tyre not too much difference in performance between them except in the pocket, I think I've now changed my mind to these as when needed, as stated above nice little review.
looks like I've made the right choice then, the ones on the rear right now are Halfords own brand Smart Chaser, they were £100 fitted for both rears only 6 months ago, I've some Falken tyres on the front and they are decent but tread is getting down so a good time to be doing them anyhoo, that will be the last time I put cheap and nasties on though I have the grandkids in the car sometimes and its just not worth it.
Yeah you won't be disappointed with the asymmetric 6. I'm driving back and forth to Cornwall on at least a monthly basis, so have pushed them hard on a mixture of roads in all different weather conditions. Typical journey there is 90 miles of motorway, 50 of A-roads, then 25 miles of greasy and slippery B-roads. They've been faultless in all conditions.
Thought cupras had 18” as the last fr+ had 18” on them copying the cupra, I was always told 34 so looked into it, I also swap them around once fronts get lower
I was looking at pilots as you get more miles but Michelin always been a harder compound .. just cost more and the deals on f1s are very good, also the F1 6 is a ev ready tyre so you get a stronger side wall like trade van tyres

Cupra R had 18s, the Cupra 180s had 17s from factory.
And some of the earlier 180's had 16s, i had a 2001 car with them on
The FR+ had the 17" version of the 18" Ronals that are on the R.
The Cupra R on the continent actually came with the same 17" as standard. The 18" we have as standard was actually only an option in Europe.

i was looking for them instead of refurbing the wheels and was rare at the time and expensive and even they needed a refurb, so refurbed the wheels a darker color and new darker middle caps.. glade i kept hold of the old caps as you cant get them now as at least i can clean them up and paint them
