What is an N249 valve

Hi peeps new to this and cant find anything on a search.

What is the N249 valve and what does it do any pics please

It's the valve that controls the vacuum to the vac reservoir (above coilpack 4) and thence the recirc valve.

Thanks for that and what is the reason for bypassing it? And how do i do this? Thanks
