What is the black round coming out the rocker cover

Hi ive just changed my tip and when removing the pipes i found the one that joins to the rocker is dumping a fair bit of oil into the tip. Its the black thing that has a flat round top, is this some sort of crankcase breather? any way i can reduce the oil escaping to the tip?

Fitting a catch can will make this redundant and collect oil, etc instead of allowing it back to inlet

I think there maybe some sort of filter in there

whats the best thing to do catch can and vent it to the tip or catch can, block the tip and vent to atmosphere?

Most people on here seem to vent back to the TIP but could go atmospheric if you wanted to
