Ive used the search alot today to take my first steps on modding my ibiza fr 1.820vt and ive tryed my best to avoid posting a new topic for you all to :banghead2 about but here it is as im stuck.
From my scrolling through a heapload of threads i come to the conclusion that the first step on modding my car is to get a ECU remap which i have had a quot for a revo remap through a campany called Vortex which is located nr me so thats just got to be booked up and done.
At this early stage what im realy trying to do is get a price and shopping list and some step by step guidance to what is the next step so ive figured out step 1 (ECU remap) i need the next step i was thinking Induction kit maybe thats a bad step i dont know being a noob.

So can somebody list some steps to progress my shopping list and plz people add product names which you could recomend to me.

Thanks people newbie chris

the list of mods i recommend to you will be a great setup for you
and in order of importance

forge recirculating valve (forge 007)
DIRECT REPLACE MENT FOR PLATIC CHEAP STANDARD BOSCH 1 THAT CAN BREAK WITH REMAP/ VERY EASY QUICK TO FIT NO CHAVY NOISES EITHER

cupra air intake (pd160 air intake)

OFF THE CUPRA OF COURSE IS A WIDER BIGER AIR INLET FOR THE STANDARD AIRBOX brilliant cheap quick to fit mod HELP CAR BREATHE EASIER

green pannel filter (direct replace, ent for standard fittament
GOES STRAIGHT IN STANDARD AIR BOX AND MAKE THE AIR INDUCTION NOISE BETTER AND BETTER AIR FLOW ALSO CHEAP AND EASY TO FIT

MAKES THE TURBO SPOOL UP EARLIER AND QUICKER EXCELLENT MODIFICATION VERY PRICEY THO!
milteck cat back (choice of oval or twin jet and resonated or non resonated)
NON RESINATED DEFINATLY THE BETTER CHOICE QUITE WHEN TOWN DRIVING AND WHEN GIVEN BEANS IT SOUNDS ACE!resonated means silenced

then you can go the next step by getting

forge turbo intake pipe
AGAIN BETTER AIRFLOW AND MORE AIRFLOW

fr intercooler to throttle body hose !!I HAVE A NEW 1 FOR SALE AS IT DONT

seat sport fmic and pipeing (OFF THE CUPRA MODEL)
NO HEAT SOAK IN THE SUMMER AND MORE EFFICIENT TURBO RESPONSE (LESS LAG)

Sorry to hijack this thread but is the 1.8t Cupra air intake the same as the PD160 one?

Comprehensive list Rash. Plenty of info on there too.

The PD160 intake is bigger than the standard intake. standard - 6cm/PD160 - 10cm (or something like that)

The info is giving me the nudge i needed to get started pitty you cant nudge my missus into the idea of it all aswell lmao i think she's bought the ECU remap on the fact you get more mpg with it done lol the rest of the engine work will have to be on the sly lmao.
I have also been looking at body styling at first i was thinking body kit but i thought hey if it aint broke dont fix it plus i dont want the chav appeal, so im thinking do away with the standard 16" 5 spoke and get in some 17" which ones i dont know yet i see some nice Kahn alloys on the demon tweeks site yesterday but wheel choice is a bitch with so much to chose from and the gamble wheather they realy set the car off , so a websit addie for site which you can see the wheels on would be realy good if any of you know of one. Then we move on to wheel spacers with 17's would i realy need them if so what size would you recomend? which moves me onto suspension i want to drop it down about 30_40mm i was just going to buy some new springs but ive read the stardard dampers wont last that long so ive scrapped that and want some advise on good kits and a rough price on what people have paid for fitting i might be in luck with this one as i knew a fella who worked for Koni so if i can get in touch with him could be a bonus. Other than that i might just leave her be unless you can think of little things just to make her stand out.

Im so dam excited about this project xmas does feel like its here pitty none of this will take place untill the new year dam women theres a moral in this tale i think for all the young ones out there , Go to school get a good job earn a packed get a fat car become celabut avoid **** and women = No wallet sucking children and you get the turbo charged car of your dreams lmao

Yep. Don't know why people call the pipe a PD160 intake, should call it the cupra intake pipe.

Yea just measured mine (the air intake ) and it's definately bigger than 6cm.
