what to use to undo the oil filter?

It is the bottom one on that Halfords link, Laser Oil Filter Cup Wrench, 76mm, 14 flutes.

I had to get one a couple months ago, the filter's pretty impossible to remove otherwise. Make sure you've got the right wrench for it too, 1/4 inch if I remember correctly but then I might be wrong

Ive got a pela pump, Best £30 i ever spent on car tools.

Used it on probably 10 different cars now with no problems on any of them short of the V70, which needed emptying after the first 6 litres.

turns a crappy job of lying on the floor with oil dripping down my sleeve into a clean and easy job (not saying id do it in my best suit) . not sure it makes it quicker, but then again i don't have to jack the car up.

You can suck all the oil out of the filter housing as well. there's a fair bit in there even when the filter is out.

I usually manage to get my filter cap off with a strap wrench....not as good as the proper tool, but I already had one, and it works for me.

You can suck all the oil out of the filter housing as well. there's a fair bit in there even when the filter is out.

Is that before its all fallen out down onto your arm and onto the drive?

strap, chain and hinged wrench all didn't work for me. Maybe mine was just screwed on extra tight from the last service

i got mine off with a rubber mat thing and a chain whip
