I decided on 4x new Bridgestone Turanza 6 245/40 R19 Y (98) on my VZ2 so I was a bit concerned about this comment!
So I did a launch control, in the rain, and it hooked up without any drama tbh.
I also took some corners just to make sure, and I'd say the Turanza 6 has as much grip, in the wet, as the Turanza T005, had in the dry (till understeer basically) which is a considerable improvement! It perserves the playful off throttle rotation and they are also higher rated 98 Y vs the previous 94 W.
They are soft sidewall,
reviews are highly rated, premium touring tyre that won't give the
dealership any concern and sets the right impression for a future owner, which is why I picked them.
Rival tyres from Continental and Michelin, Perelli, all wanted £25 more per corner, so the Bridgestone's were very financially sensible.
In answer to the OP; Goodyear Asymmetric 6 is a very good choice too - but they are hard sidewall tyres and favour a more direct feel / sporty drive. However I always prefer the squashy rubber feel and added comfort of soft sidewalls, in all situations, so those didn't go on my shortlist.
