I have noticed recently that when driving in the wet and being quite heavy on the accelerator, I get wheelspin in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears when the turbo kicks in. I have the ESP on but the light doesn't flash when this happens and would expect it to cut the power or something. Come to think of it I have never seen the dashboard light come on except when I manually turn the system off.

I can spin the wheels for at least a second in 3rd but ease off as I dont want to wear the tyres :) I'm surprised at the amount of torque but it's not re-mapped or anything. This sound normal? Or am I just driving like a :censored: lol

Probably the road surface is slightly greasy where it has happened. I wouldn't worry too much about losing your tread as if the road is wet the damage will be insignificantly minimal.

What tyres are you running? If its P-zero's then there's your problem.

I struggle to spin the wheels in 3rd in the wet now, unless I give the wheels a little tug to the left or right to help them loose grip.

How do you get on in the dry?

You may find you are giving the clutch a bit of a hard time by doing it in 3rd too... be gentle :)

I can spin the fronts on my 130Sport TDI in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the wet off roundabouts. And it's standard. I get the TCS light come on, but don't have ESP. Your ESP shouldn't kick in if you are just spinning the fronts I wouldn't have thought. ESP works to stabilise the car if it senses a spin or something by controlling braking to individual wheels (I think!). But, your TCS light should come on, on the dash.

I think that is down to the Mickey Mouse tyres that are on it though. To be changed soon.

Yea they are P-Zero Neros. When I say the ESP light I mean the TCS light as it includes TCS, ABS and EBA I thought. I wouldnt expect the ESP to kick in, just the TCS part of it.

I'll take it a little easier anyway, just annoying that u cant floor it fully when pulling out of a junction onto a dual carriageway but even without doing that I can catch most things that have just passed me very quickly hehe

my car can wheelspin into 3rd in the dry and in the wet i just turn into a grandmar because its pointless trying to floor the car because i just wheelspin lol hate to think what wheelspin rash gets in his ibiza i would imagine 333bhp in a fwd car will be hard in any conditions hahaha

prity good traction suprisingly when im giving it some beans ive had it squeeling in 4th in the dry  new tyres soon tho ;)

Mine used to spin before I had it mapped, now I have better tyres and suspension I get hardly any spin, 1st and 2nd occasionally if i'm brutal :)

what tyres are you running mate i need to get some that don't spin my p-zero's just spin and spin, also how much torque are you running?

well apparently thats "restricted" so will be getting better clutch in next month or two then should be able to get another 15-20 ft/lb so they tell me anyway!

I need to go on a RR day, last one I did I span off rollers at 145bhp & 245lb ft, torque was climbing too much

Your telling me!

He only did the 1 run too, no cold air fan either, just lovely hot day in a small room!
