I don't think it's a case of no one wants to answer your questions, I personally have run a 007p on my mapped LCR for 18 months with no issues but the sound it makes is'nt important to me. In fact, I've just serviced my D/V and I think it's quieter than before and seems to dump slightly steadier and more controlled but it holds boost far better than it did so you must decide what you want one for. I've no personal experience of the splitter so I can't really comment other than I've heard that they can be difficult to set up but again, I've never tried. Perhaps the people who struggle to set them up want 'whoosh' more than they want performance, I don't know. Have you tried posting/searching in the Forge section?

With a standard airbox you really won't hear much at all. Alot of people complain of a loss of boost with the Splitter, it seems to leak and it's not very loud.

The most common route is to go for a 007P and an open cone such as the Jetex FR-08001:

Awesome have an offer on the 007P just now: http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=13863&xSec=1&jssCart=449dc793b8bdae67a8f4f2931d950aa1

Hope that helps.

whats the difference between the Forge 007P and the Forge Splitter Valve??

and whats the hks ssqv like?

I ran the Forge SplitR on my 20vT for 6 months and had no problems. I run a non standard ECU without a MAF, so don't need recirc, so eventually swapped it out for the HKS SSQV and located it as close to the throttle butterfly as possible.

The HKS chirps, rather than whooshing. It's an acquired taste and I'm looking to change it now for no reason other than wanting a different sound. Tial is probably the route, but you can't run a full atmospheric BOV with a stock ECU without stuff getting upset.
