Which oil for LCR225

You'll save a packet using the Fuchs Titan Supersyn SL 0w-30 (503.01) as it's about 70% of the price of SLX and the like. Fuchs is also the factory fill partner of VAG being German!

Right, being a total pleb here comes a question:

I have an LC, not LCR. I am aiming to get it revo'd very soon. So, what oil do I go for?
Do i use different to an LCR, or the same? Seeing as the power output will be close to that of an LCR (std).... i am a little confused. My car has 43k on the clock.

Pabs,

All VAG cars do things by codes, in your hand book it will give you a code for the oil to be used, it will look a little like VW503.01

Let me know what code you have and I can give you some options.

yeh, i thought that and have had a look:

Petrol engines: VW 500 00 Multigrade synthetic
VW 505 01 Brand multigrade

Also mentions something about VW 502 00 being good for bad weather/pulling trailor, and VW500 00 being good all year round.

So confused. Multigrade synthetic, fully synthetic, semi-synthetic etc so many TLA's.... :S

Hi mate

let the dealer use castrol magnetec 5w/30 not 10w/40 comes in both now,this is seat approved for the LCR,and what my dealer now uses and alot of others,says it is synthetic,no mention of semi or full syn on bottle though @ your mileage will complete running in,then @ next change use castrol slx,0/30w this is vag 503.01 and is great for chipped motors,i,ve had no probs,and car dont use any oil,btw mine was done @ around 3.2-3.5k too(apr'ed that is)make sure u ask dealer for oil and and spec as above

Both myself and CC use 10-40w magnatec in our stage3 Ibiza's and change it every 6k or 6000 miles.

Magnatec ester based synthetic oil. I love loking through your old posts especially the ones where i can show how much smarter than you i am.

P.S Buy it from Morrisons for £18.

Dont put it in bill for @ least 10K, that stuff is so good, it will stop it running in,no sh*t

Its ran on a mixture of oils, after IHI jabba put in the vag semi syn. Previous to that it had magnatec, so the last 50k has been either vag oil, or magnatec changed every 6k. Its to late to start putting other stuff in now.

just bought some motul from bill, but as I have only done 8k am tempted to go with another belly of Synta Semi to let the engine wear a little more (another 5-6k or so.

is this oil ok to use on a chipped LCR?

Thats what it says on the back of the oil i use.
5w-40 Carlube Triple R.

I only run it for 5-6k before changing it. So if SEAT use th 502.00 for serviceing then so do I
