My car had it's 20k service yesterday (10 months old so not that old!) and I asked them to look at the excessive wind noise from drivers side mirror, amongst other things.

I was told there is a recall for it, and they've done the recall, does seem to be better, not sure what they did or anything but seems to be less wind noise.

Just thought I'd let you know, if you didn't already!

Was news on me, but whatever they have done appears to have "helped" with the wind noise!

I'm unsure what they did though, I'm afraid, and it's the first I'd heard. Might just have been a cover to stop me making a big point about it?

Mine had this awful noise when i got it 1st September and was 1 of a huge list of faults we had with the car which was fixed when it went back in.

Much better now but still their a little.

What did they do with the mirror, to stop the noise???

The mirror housing on the outside was not fit right and I could see that had been removed and refit, but the guy mentioned something about resealing the inside of it.

Much better now though so i'm happy.

Did they fit you with these to get round the other fit & finish recalls?

There is an issue with the Cupra's and Fr's mostly with the wind noise. Mines been in once to have this looked at but it hasn't cured it fully. I've not known it to be a recall though..

dont they add a rubber strip in the mirror when floded in so the gap between the mirror cover and the mirror base

Does anyone know what the dealer do to stop the noice. Was at the dealer today, and they looked like this

Does anyone have a pic or 2 that I can show them???

Thanx :)

I thought it was normal to have a bit of wind noise inside the car:whistle:

it is normal on these wee beezers and im not fussed by my tiny windnoise as i payed peanuts and i think these other guys really need to understand theyre not merc quality  but if its a draft of air and so noisey i couldnt hear my turbo then its fair do's to moan :D
