I have decided not to go with the car - alot of the reasons everyone posted were floating around my head anyway, but i suppose the fact is the car was registered in april 2008 and drove 32,000 miles in 20 months with god knows who behind the wheel.
I could be a great car but the 2 year manufacturers warrenty is almost up and the 3rd year uk seat dealers warrenty wouldnt transfer to ireland. i would only be left with the warrenty insurance from where i was buying the car.
the car was registered working in keighley which is only 13 miles from leeds bradford airport so its not unreasnable to think it worked as a airport rent a car.
anyway thanks for everyones input. i will keep looking, i do prefer the spec of the uk model over the irish one, so mabey i will sell my altea privatly and buy a leon up north or from uk mainland anyway.
