An independent garage in Scotland.

I'm not sure if I can mention the name on the forum here.

I would be taking it back there tomorrow to see what they will do about all the problems. Did they say anything about doing a check or anything? by this i mean that a lot of places do 100+ point checks on vehicles.
You said it came with 1 months warranty, was this one of the terrible RAC warranties?

I'm not sure how you stand legally but if their not prepared to sort your problems then I would suggest pointing out to them that you will be seeking legal advice.

The type of warranty wasn't specified. I'd expect it to cover major flaws though.

Definitely take it back in the next day or 2 with a list of the faults you have encountered. The faults in the first post may be sporadic faults but make sure they're aware that you are prepared to have the faults cleared and monitor them, for a week or something to keep it as an initial complaint.

Also view the webpage in the above link and save their phone number in your phone. Any problems ring them while your still there and put the garages arguments to them while your sat at the garage.

Cheers mate. I'll have a look, though, seeing that I just got the car I hope it wouldn't get to that stage.

I might not make it down until Wednesday due to work (The garage is down in Helensburgh, and I'm in Glasgow.), but I want to get it sorted asap.

You would hope not, any remotely decent garage would acknowledge that they need to sort these faults out, but don't get fobbed off by them they do have an obligation to supply a car in a condition whereby its free from defects, in the unlikely event that they aren't prepared to sort it, having the number will be very useful in clarifying what their obligation is.
Also on the page i linked to about half way down is a link to a list of scottish garages that are signed up to some scheme, have a look if your ones listed on there.

I just had a look on SMTA, it doesn't look like autopoint are a member.

Gave them a call earlier. They seem reasonable. They're going to check out the errors and see if they can be cleared on Wednesday.

I've got a fking fuel line leak now ! Unbelievable.

The AA are on their way to take a look.

I thought it was brakefluid at first, as the pot and brake line cable are soaked, but I put a container under it and can see that it's clearly petrol from the smell and look.

Yeah, at least I'll have a slip from the AA to confirm the problem.

I might ask them to take a look at the warning lights too.

The AA guy said the fuel filter has gone "porous" and needs replaced.

That's a fking service item and I was told that the car would have a service before being sold.

Really miffed about this. I've got to drive 90mins to take it to the garage again and if they keep it I'll probably be fked for transport. I doubt they'll offer a courtesy car.

I'm actually considering asking for a refund and looking for another Leon Cupra.

I had a good look on autotrader for a few weeks, but I couldn't see anything decent for up to 4k.
They all had 80+k on the clock.

I rather have a car with 80k on thats been looked after than one with 40k that hasn't.
