When your 1.4 sport decides when it wants to give you power (75bhp mmmm!) and more importantly when it wants to bog down and stop accelerating. Usually just as you want to pull out of a junction quickly and have already started to move. A generally lumpy map with loads of flatspots is annoying too. Main dealer just says 'nothing wrong with that, its no different to any other Ibiza Sport.' Great!

I have noticed all of the faults mentioned and yet still I'm finding myself really starting to like the car. Its bloody strange!!

for all its faults you have to admit its a cracking motor!

although i have to shout at my passengers because of the road noise and hold the dash so it doesnt rattle, its so much more fun than my Golf GTI

yup!
- condensation lights
- replacing bulbs
- rear washer issues
- air con problems and randomness - causing overheating of CDs so they can't eject until they've cooled down (oh but they fixed the air con, allegedly)
- I've got used to the locks but the boot is a complete *** because it re-locks in about 10 seconds unless you open it.
- it's as rattley as a Reading Bus (that's impressive)
- drivers seat goes thonk when you shift weight on it
- you grin when it's just been valeted and still think it's a great car.

oh but why does my clutch have to go now :(

When...

-- the mirrors aren't sealed properly, the garage fails to do the job so you do it yourself,
-- the boot won't open, its fixed by the garage and then when you open it, a piece of trim falls off,
-- it takes two trips to the dealers to fix a rattle.

And all this within 3 weeks of ownership.

Despite this,

-- you get 66 mpg (FR TDI) on a trip from Ncl to London despite having a heavy right foot. Happiness restored...

bad
- no boot light (all my black mountain bike gear is indistinguishable in the dark)
- rattly dash from previous owner's tinkering (I think fitting a CD changer)
- doors without enough opening stops

good
- not been affected by bad wind noise in mine
- large boot for size of car
- economy
- suprise look on unsuspecting 'performance cars' as you chase after them/leave them behind
- don't seem to see them all over the place
