Ok, I have a fault code registering on my Mk3 Ibiza Cupra

"17536 P1128 Long Term Fuel Trim mult.,Bank1 System too Lean"

Anyone with in depth VAG-COM knowledge be able to tell me what the likely source of this is?

Many thanks

how does the car drive?........****

have you done another scan on vag com since the light came on the dash?

The turbo doesn't kick in. I've not checked the car since as i don't have VAG-COM (a friend of a friend came over).

I've done a search on google of the code and from what i'm reading it might be the MAF, no idea though, bit of an amateur on engines. Have also read that it might be the re-cic pipe on my DV, but i've checked that too.

It still drives, but as i don't know what the code is i'm worried about driving it. what is limp mode?

I would say it is your maf, do you have a forge recirc valve or std bosch?

you could unplug the maf plug and drive it for a very short distance, if it flies then it is your maf sensor, re plug it in and dont drive it far until you have a new one, from the dealer or GSF

Forge DV, i know the MAF has something to do with controlling the air/fuel mixture but thats it, what will unplugging it do?

it will tell you if it is the maf, trust me I did this on my car, do a search on various threads on here, if you dont want to do this you could do a log through vag com to measure the maf g/s reading, block 018 iirc might be block 003, sorry not done logs for ages

Im sure its your maf fella, all the symptoms are there

did you unplug the maf? is it driving fine with it plugged in now? the light on the dash has gone out....

I took it for a drive with the MAF still plugged in and was then planning to take it for another drive without the MAF. Anyway, took it for a 5 mile blast through Cambridgeshire, no loss of power or diagnosis light either. So haven't bothered unplugging the MAF, might take it out again later to satisfy my curiousity

I'll keep an eye on it for the next couple of days

i have the same code on mine, but thought it was due to me changing the maf diameter, some days it feels strong sometimes feels crap, do u think its the MAF too?
