better off with the fr`s tdi will hold it`s money better.

if it has to be petrol, dsg option would be better. also you dont get the stupid chav plastic seat`s stuck in the cupra to make it look different from the fr .

im guesing 10k loss over 3 years for the cupra

Hi Guy's,

After a bit of a difficult evening (our 2 1/2 year old son threw up all over the restaurant's table 5 minutes before we got our dinner) i managed to upload the pictures i owed you.

I hope you like them [B)]

Hi Eric, thank you for going to the trouble to take and show these......I think I need to see it in daylight to finally decide whether to go for this colour....

Looks really great! Exactly like the one I've ordered! ;)
What optional stuff have you ordered? Already got some rims for the winter?
Are you going to take some pictures outside?
The colour is great! Does it in reality look like on the pictures?

1) Bi-xenon (is not standard in Holland) Bluetooth, alu trimkit (doors)
18" Elite Krono wheels, seat sport side skirts
2) I will drive the Krono's in the winter and when the spring comes i will
choose some aditional rims.
3) Yes, i will get my car on 2-1-2007 and soon after that the pictures will follow.
4) Yes Yes Yes (i would say even more impressive:funk:

Why haven't you told me that you won't use the original rims? Then I could have taken them for the winter. ;) My dealer said that I cannot buy them. Now I already bought some ( the ones with 7 doublespokes from Seat) that are stored in my living room, although not having the car... :D (get it probably in the middle of february)
By the way: Bi-Xenon ist also not standard in germany...

Sorry didn't know that. But the original rims are not my cup of tea so i traded them for the Krono's with my dealer.

Any pictures of the turbo plate, or if you could just look for us, we'd be very VERY grateful.

Any info in the manual about whether you can fit a towing bracket?

For towing trailers? Nearest I can do Auf Deutsch: Schleppenanhängevorrichtung

Edit: Seat.nl lists a "Afneembare trekhaak inclusief 13-polige kabelset", so is it a trekhaak in Dutch?

The turbo plate will be on the turbo  on the compressor housing, a small blue plate riverted to the housing.

M0rk took these of one of the new cupra racers, dunno if it helps:

The close up picture looks to me like it's taken at the back left hand side of the engine, with the "top" of the picture on the left - I think the pipe you can see coming in is the inlet...

You'll need a towing bracket for moving your stupid caravans around. ;) Or in dutch probably: aanhangwagen koppeling. And in german for sure: Anhängerkupplung.
Probably you cannot see the turbo plate. I think at the 2.0TFSI the turbo and the exhaust manifold is one part. And this is mounted on the side of the engine pointing to the passenger cabin.

What exactly do you want to know about the turbo? It is the bigger one K04 as in the Audi S3.

How dare you suggest I own a caravan :D

That's what I wanted to know - if it's a K04. Can I ask how you know this?

@Feel: Didn't dare to suggest that you own a caravan. I meant Eri and he is from the Netherlands. And as everybody knows: they are born with caravans.

I was also curious what kind of engine the Cupra has. So I was reading a lot of things about it. It is also mentioned here:
http://shortnews.stern.de/shownews.cfm?id=647324&CFID=37293593&CFTOKEN=92802678
Sorry, it's german... ;)
Here is mentioned that it has a bigger turbo
http://www.seatcupra.net//seat_news...upra_from_the_race_track_to_the_road_482.html
Here also:
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews/firstdrives/203834/seat_leon.html

If you are looking at the maximum torque it comes quite clear that it must have a bigger turbo than the fr:
Cupra: 300NM, 2200-5500 min^-1
FR: 280NM, 1800-5000min^-1

With the K03 the engine would be at its limit with 240PS.
And some rumours say that ABT (german tuner) will offer a changed ECU software with 320PS... :D

Convinced? Or do you need more stuff? ;)

You leave Eri alone ;)

I suspect it's the same turbo as the S3, but I would like solid proof...

Hadn't seen the shortnews link beore, it does say it shares the engine with the S3, but we know it's a different engine code - so it' the same engine.

I'd seen the other links before, bigger turbo could just mean bigger than the FR, but not as big as the S3. The 240 limit if it was a K03s would be about right, which is why I'm interested to know if it is bigger, and will remap to more than 240ps.

Rumours, rumours :D

In the german article is directly said, that it has the S3-engine with reduced power by software.
Okay, I cannot give you a real proof that it is the K04. But as far as I know there is nothing between the K03 and K04. And I am so sure about the Cupra having the K04 that I have ordered one. :D Otherwise I pobably would not have done it.

Edit: But what I have just found out: It seems that the engines have different compression ratios.
S3: 9.8:1
Cupra: 10.3:1
This means that they have a different cylinder-head. The rumours will go one... :D
