The 'teams' are just groups who are camping together, and maybe sailing & driving down together. They are all over the place, the beermountain site has only been going a couple of years and some of the people have been going to Le Mans for 20 years, so they tend to stick with their favourite campsites.

The focal point, I suppose, is Maison Blanche where a lot of the beermountain bods stay, including 633 scooter squadron, the wild choppers, plus the www.clubarnage.com contingent and the www.drinkingforholland.nl team - those guys can drink serious quantities of beer!

Houx Annexe hosts some of the teams as well, the rest are scattered around Karting Nord, Bleu and Beauséjour. Last year (our first) we just turned up and enjoyed it, we didn't really know anyone at all.

If you're camping in a group, start you own team and post progress on planning, kit, where you're camping etc. There is a plan for some of us to try to get around the campsites to meet up with as many as we can, this is doomed as people are bound not to be at the tents when we visit, but its a good-intentioned plan. For this purpose we're using g-scooters, I'm taking the lads scooter which will go in the car:

I'd recommend getting grandstand seating as well, overlooking the pits if possible. You won't want to be there all the time, you'll want to roam around but you've got 24 hours to do that, get down to Indianapolis & Arnage at night, or at least Tertre Rouge. But the pre-race build-up, the start and the finish is definitely best viewed from the stands. Plus you can see what is going on:

You'll need a radio because the track commentray is in French, surprisingly enough, just brief bursts in English. Without a radio or within sight of one of the big screens, after an hour or so you'll have no idea at all who is leading.

Also make sure you go for a blast down the Mulsanne Straight on the Friday. You just have to do that!

Above all, just soak up the atmosphere - it's the greatest show on earth! ;)

Phil, PM your mobile number, I'll put you in touch with someone who knows them inside out. We've not had to do anything with ours. ;)
