Window Delay...

Recently i've noticed there's something wrong with my window on the drivers door.

As you know it's got 4 functions: 1. all the way up; 2. Slowly upwards; 3. Slowly downwards and 4. All the way down.

Now the problem is with #3 ... it seems to be a little laggy; i have to keep it pressed down for a few good seconds before it'll actually start moving downwards.

Has anyone had this problem ? How do i fix it ?

Also on:

1. all the way up.
Sometimes the window on mine will go up by 3/4 then come back down again. When this happens the auto closure/open from the switch will not work until the sequence has been programmed in again.

This is a commen VAG problem.. they never fix it!!! No matter how many time you take the car back to the dealer.

Yeh its the "If it starts raining and my window is slightly open do i get a little wet or risk getting really wet and try to close it!!" feature

I thought the delay on down was put there so that you couldn't accidently hit the button a little bit and end up with a slightly open window. Seems sensible to me.

aaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaa !!!!!!!! i figured it out.... >_<; oh and btw my window doesnt go down at all anymore on the #3 position.

Try this: Grab the button with your thumb and index finger and push it in position #3... if nothing happens then push a little more without going into position #4 ....
You might find out that the window will start moving downwards at once.

So obviously there's something wrong with it; the #3 position and the connector that makes the window go down are out of "sync" they don't touch on the #3 position anylonger... but a little lower between #3 and #4.

lol... well it works... so clearly its a mechanical problem and it can be fixed...

Mine does the same - I put it down to a dry joint/wear in the switch.

I'll try a new switch and report back.

:O amazing how many people have this problem... but nobody said anything.. i wonder why... ?
