anybody know how to set the exterior temperature control? being trying for ages now and cant seem to do it!

Exterior temperature control, isn't that decided by the weather? Please explain.

on the screen in the top left it says EXT?

I think if there is no value then your external temperature sensor is broken, it is located in your passenger wing mirror.
Does the display say "EXT --"??

broken sensor mate, mine does exactly the same, real easy to fix, part number is floating about if you do a search.
