Edinburgh
Well I nearly did this morning.:redface:

Touring round Edinburgh trying to find BP Ultimate Diesel. Found a BP garage eventually which hadn't run out. Actually got as far as putting the nozzle in, and about to squeeze the trigger - then thought, this is BP Ultimate petrol!!

Fortunately none was dispensed. Drove round to another pump and put the right stuff in. Phew, that was close. Ironic thing was there was an AA van parked right next to me. Nearly needed his services!!:D

I always double and tripple check I've got a diesel pump in my hand before i put it in the nozzle lol! :D

Wahey! If you had have put it in, you shouldnt have started your car and they can just drain your tank. It's when you start it and it gets in the system that you're in the smelly stuff....

i couldnt even if i tryed as the diesel nozzles are too big but i only reach for the v power petrol and check anyway

Yep. Know I would have been stuck there until the tank was drained.

Only realised when I noticed the nozzle was thinner than usual. Just in a dream!

I put 16 litres of petrol into my empty 60 litre tank on my 307 once - I filled the tank to the brim with diesel and refilled it twice when it got to half-way - car was fine, didn't notice anything out of ordinary apart from a little more smoke!

Haven't done it since though - don't think I ever will! :p.

Well this was on a '54 plated 307 in May '06 - it had 10k on it at the time just after I bought it. When I p/exed it in Nov '06 with 24k on it, there had been no problems with the engine or fuelling systems! (Just electrical faults that wern't at all related).

fair enough mate, think u got lucky there. Storys I have heard about doing that I genuanlly do trebble check before even picking the pump up lol

i put petrol in my diesel just a couple of weeks back. had an altea courtesy car which was petrol so when i got my ibiza back which is diesel i just started to fill it up with unleaded without realising!!!
I jus topped the tank with diesel and to be fair its never ran so good :)

Guy in my work put petrol in the car and the bill was £3500!

Has now developed the nickname Diesel so he knows what to fill it with. lol.
