HELP i've put petrol in my derv!

What a tit your all thinking . the light was on and i've put 21 litres of unleaded in. i havent started the car but have turned the key the left it the garage.

so whats my options?

is it easy to empty the tank? i hope so because my plan is to empty the tank then fill with derv and cross my fingers.

il take the fuel off you can be pumped out then when replaced with diesel will be fine dont worry uve just wasted your money on some petrol could sell it in gerry cans

disposing of the unwanted petrol will be tricky and expensive if you do it yourself as it will have derv in it and will be a bit smokey

try selling it in gerry cans down the car boot sale or wait till the next fuel crisis/panic buy session and make a mint

don't worry, your not the first nor will you be the last, SCN is going to make a wrong fuel section in the forum soon

go to halfords or maybe B+Q and get a syphon pump and some large containers, split the fuel line where you can get to a joint, Bob's your mothers brother

this isnt gonna be a quick fix is it? i want to use my car to go to work at 530am tomorrow

Just empty the fuel tank...there should be an overflow pipe as i had this on my 2.0 corsa as i off fueled it and it will be the same..

As said before you can syphon it out as it got a specail anti-syphon cap....

Just get under the car with a few mates and a torch and just undo all the pipes goin to the tank! Then fill it in containers...

When you've found which pipe the fuel comes out then jack the car toward the pipe so its inclining the tank if you get me...
This is what ive done on past experaince then push it to the diesel pump and fill her up..DO NOT start it untill the Unleaded is all out and uve pushed it to the pump and filled her with deisel..!...

its worse being derv in a petrol so if there a TINY bit of petrol is still left (i 1/4 of a litre in a FULL tank of derv!) il be honest ive never looked at the ibiza fuel tank setuop but you may find a join in the fuel line just disconnect it an catch it as much as you can turn the ignition on to check how much you have as long as the needle is in the red fill her up to the brim with derv! only other way is get your hose pipe and make your own syphone and syphone it from the fuel filter under the rear seats !

yeah he right...

There should be a pipe on the tank for cases like this as ive done this to my mate veccy and my bros sisters tigra...And both time there has been pipes..

At the worst tbh..once uve got all the petrol out there still gonna be some in there when you fill her up it mite feel underpowered and it might chug..Put this should were off..

But your fuel pump might be ****ed as it pumping the wrong fuel around it...Or even mixed fuel..You might be very lucky
